We have bought a house with on old air conditioner and no handbook. What are the symbols on the remote for heat and cool please? ie. How can I tell which is which?

Hello Yes there is a blower fan located in the unit in the home.What this doeas is moves the air out to the vents in the floors or walls. Also there is a fan outside.This is used for air conditioning.What this fan does is keeps the condensor cool by disapating heat away.
Make sure you have set them correctly IE/ If you want them to heat, make sure the heat symbol is dispalyed and the temperature setting is above the room temperature. Press the "house" symbol on the remote to find the room temperature. LG as with most other brands , if set to cooling but the remote temp is set high ( 20 to 25 degrees,) will run for a few minutes and then turn off as the machine thinks it has reached the temperature you have selected.. Heat symbol on LG is a "sun", cooling is an icicle. Check your filters.... if they are dirty, the units will not operate correctly.
