Just bought a new mitsubishi 838 series tv and need to know how to program their remote into my osiris remote to operate not only the tv in the other room but also the satellite and tivo the osiris is a Mx350rzsurveying

I Belive the 838 does not have a built in wireless card you need to by a wireless adapter that plugs into your tv usb port(Mitsubishi AzureWave AW-NU231 Wireless Adapter). Which can be ordered online from tiger direct or other online retailers. Just plug in the adapter and the tv should run a guided setup.Then all you need to do is press the Internet button on your TV remote. But any wireless router will link up to your tv. If you have a wireless router you do not have to go out and another yours should work. If your network is in close proximity to your tv you can run ethernet cable to your tv insted of going wireless. Besides the many features Osiris MX-350 provides as a universal remote control, it is also a learning remote.

If pushing the button doesn't have the expected result, e.g. pushing the GUIDE button on the remote doesn't bring up the channel guide, you can teach the Osiris with the original remote.

Instructions on teaching your remote a new command is included in the instruction manual.

Since I couldn't find a code for my Sony blu-ray player, I just taught the Osiris all the commands from my original remote in about 10 minutes.

Most remote makers provide information and codes for programming their devices on their websites. check there for the instructions.

There are a number of codes for the Philips Universal Remote that operate Sony TV models - they are:

034, 038, 138, 202, 238, 524, 708, 801, 838, and 936

You can call the company and give them the model number MX-350 and they sell for around $4.00 a piece. I bought 2 in case I lost another one.

If you bought an Off brand DVD, the code my not be stored in the eprom of the remote.....Call Mitsubishi to be sure.
