My Uniden phone Model EXP4540 stopped working after just two months. I hear a very faint dialtone, though. I exchanged this phone after the first one "died" after two months. Do they purposely make these phones to last until the store warranty is up? How can I fix this phone?

Sorry, Uniden EXP4540 2.4 GHz does not have a speaker phone feature. The cordless phone features AutoTalkā¢ and AutoStandbyā¢. AutoTalkā¢ allows you to answer a call by just removing the handset from the base so you don't have to waste time pushing buttons. AutoStandbyā¢ allows you to hang up by simply returning the handset to the base. You can check it's manual with this link http://www.uniden.com/pdf/EXP4540om.pdf.
Thanks for using fixya!
We've had the same problem with our new Uniden phone. Sounds like someone's on the other line - no dial tone and answering machine doesn't work. The telephone line works though because we plugged our old phone in and it works fine. Any solutions anyone?
