Hello, Marthawinter - A kind tip: You may wish to Edit your question and remove your telephone number from it, unless you want to receive phone calls (spam, scam) from people you do not know. Those who volunteer to answer questions through Fixya.com probably will not call you.

Hi Marthawinter, I support the advice given by the first installer, please remove you telephone number.

You appear to have tried most of everything, if your printer has excess to use a USB to printer cable, I suggest this is your best way to proceed. Once you have achieved connection via this medium, you can then avail of a wireless selection.

If not, find the wireless set up on your printer and press the WPS button on the printer this should allow connection.

Regards

Ada

Hello, Marthawinter -

When my husband says he cannot print anything from his computer to our shared WiFi printer, the first thing I always check for him is whether his computer is connected to the Internet.

We have both our computers set to connect to the Internet (via WiFi) manually. That means our shared printer, when it is powered up, is also connected via WiFi.

If you have a similar situation, make sure your computer is connected to the Internet as well as your printer being turned on before running a test print.

Best wishes.

Go to your device manager and make sure that you have a driver for the printer. Or uninstall the printer then reinstall it. sounds like the printer driver has been deleted

Hi, The problem here is that the CD has an older version of the driver which has some known issues. Few steps will be required to fix this.

  1. Unplug the printer
  2. Goto control panel -> Add/Remove programs (or) Programs & features (Vista), uninsuatll the Dell Printer software if listed.

Samsung clp-365w crashes computer when trying to print

Hello,

Uninstall the printer and reinstall it using the new driver. After removing the old driver and installing the new one, scan your computer with RadarSync so that you will know which drivers need some updating.

Printer will not communicate with the computer

1. Walk over to the printer and print a test page directly. The procedure for printing a test page will vary from model to model, so you may need to consult the user guide that came with your printer. For most network printers, you can print a test page by navigating the "Information" menu on the control panel and choosing "Print Configuration" from the menu. For many desktop printers, you can print a test page by holding the power button until the page begins to print. If you can print a test page from the printer, but not from the computer, you know there is a communication problem between the printer and the PC.

2. Remove the printer cable from the back of your printer and the back of your computer. After the cable has been removed, carefully put the cable back into place, making sure that the printer cable is tight. If your printer uses a parallel cable, be sure that it is fully seated on the back of the printer and on the computer. If you are using a USB cable for your printer, be sure that the tab is fully seated in the computer, and that the square end of the cable is firmly connected to the printer.

3. Power down the printer, the restart your computer. Click on the "Start" button and choose "Control Panel" from the menu. Double-click the "Printers and Faxes" icon, locate your printer, right-click on it and choose "Properties" from the menu. Click on the "Print Test Page" button to send a test page to your printer.

4. Look at the network card on your network printer to see if there is good communication between the printer and the network. You should see a flashing green light on the network card. If there is no light--or if the light is amber or red--the communication is not happening. To test the network communication, remove the network cable from both the network cable and the network port on the wall, then reseat the cable and check the communication again. If the problem remains, you will need to remove and replace the printer's network card.

HP 6280 Printer. Not printing. Ran diagnostics form HP software. No issues. Printer an computer are communicating. Can run alignment test and Diagnostic Print Page from computer without issue. ...

Well you definitely have a pc problem and not one of the printer. the printer just prints what it is sent and as you can print the alignment page that takes care of the printer.

You have reinstalled the driver but did you remove the old one first? I bet not. You should download the hp printer removal tool. Run it and after a restart then you can install the driver. Personally i would turn off the auto update feature as hp updates really mess things up.

I reckon after the reinstall the printer will be fine.

The application I am using requires that my receipt printer - EVO RP1 be installed as generic Text only driver on my computer. My operating system is windows 7, 64 Bit. we can print a test page several...

I believe there is a bug in the Windows 7 operating system that Microsoft is trying to solve. I've had similar issues with my network printer - I would resolve it by deleting the printer and then adding it again. There will be two options to load a driver - try both one at a time (experiment with each one) and see which one will work the longest.

Print jobs go through the queue but nothing prints

Maybe you should uninstall software for the printer the restart your system again then reinstall back the software for the printer, the problem maybe as a result of the configuration on your system. after reinstalling try to print out a tested page to see if the problem still persist. Thanks

Message on the monitor is as follows:

If you haven't already done it, the first thing you should do will be to turn off both the computer and the printer, then restart both.

Next, clear out the Print Que. Once the first print job stalls out, it creats a road block that will not let any subsequent print jobs print.

After clearing the print que, got to START, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS AND FAXES and find your printer. Right click on your printer then click on Properties. When the properties window opens up, look at the bottom of the General Tab and click on Print Test Page. If the Test Page prints out, try printing from your software program (Word, Excel, Word Perfect, etc).

If the Test Page does not print out, or it does and you still can't print from the software program, then clear the print que again and restart both the computer and the printer again.

I am going to assume that this is either a Parallel Port or USB printer, in which case you might try unplugging the cable (USB or Parallel) from both the printer and the computer, then plugging it back in at both ends.

If that does not work, try replacing the cable and see what happens.

If replacing the cable does not solve the problem, you will most likely need to reinstall the printer, or just the print driver depending on what type of software came with the printer. Once you have reinstalled the printer, try printing a test page again and then printing from your word processor or what-ever.

One of those steps should take care of the problem, if not, then you may have a hardware (or firmware) ware issue, in which case you will more than likely have to have it serviced by PC or Printer Technician. If that is the case, depending on the quality of the printer itself, it might be more cost efficient just to replace the printer.

Hope this helps - Graye

HP LaserJet 3550 spits out blank paper when job sent from computer but prints fine when printing directly from printer

Try connecting the printer via the USB port on either one of the computers. Then test if the machine prints fine then likely possibility is that the Network interface card is faulty remove the network card and install in a different slot and test. If the same thing happens then reinstall the drivers and test.

Hope this helps
