Toshiba tecra a8
what pass word.?
BIOS
or windows, if using windows, unstated. (windows login screen?)
if not login screen for windows seen that means its a BIOS PASSword. not good that.
first ones run XP, do you still run this? old virus magnet OS?
why not ask TOSHIBA this, they made it, not us.
You can change the boot up order of devices in the BIOS. Go into the BIOS setup then to Boot up order and move the CD/DVD dirve as the first boot device and the hard drive as the 2nd boot device. Then you boot up with a disc in the CD/DVD drive.
LAN driver is located in device manager. Click start button; type device manager in the search box and that is under the network adapter. If the driver is missing follow the link below to download it.
The only drivers that will work ard on the Toshiba web site and if there isn't one, theoretically the machine is not Win7 compliant. If you speak to the technical department there, they are extremely helpful.
If you go to www.toshiba.com go to support or downloads
type in your make model and operating system as in xp or vista or windows 7 then look for your driver
good luck
please let us know if this was helpful and you found what you were looking for
You need to have a working CD/DVD Installer of your OS like Windows Vista or Windows XP or the like.
Now, you need to start your laptop while the disc installer is in your CD/DVD Drive. Then it will automatically boot from the CD/DVD drive to start the installation. Just follow the on-screen procedures.
Hi, first you need to check window device manager.
On your desktop, Right Click My Computer icon,
select Manage option, and select Device Manager. Look on the list can you see any strange symbol like exclamation when you click on the plus sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. If so, you need to update the Chipset driver on your computer.
Hope this help.

it sounds like you need a driver.just go to your control panel and performance and maintainance and click on hardware and then click on device manager and see if their is a yellow question mark next to any of your devices ,if there is,double click on that device and windows will ask you what you want to do,just click on install driver and it will guide you through the installation process.
