I think that Teac DV-28e Is a CD/DVD-ROM only, and will not burn discs. Teac DW-28e is a CD RW/ DVD ROM unit, and will thus play and burn CDs, but will only play DVDs. Check your model numbers to confirm, and then consider exchanging units if you need to burn CDs.

I have TEAC DC-28E-N on a Compaq laptop with Windows XP Home. The driver is in error or corrupted. No driver for this DVD/CD-ROM drive is listed on TEAC Web site even though this device is listed as a...

Download http://www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, and save the file. Right click on the downloaded file and choose Extract All, then double-click on cdgone.reg Say "Yes" to the merge question and then reboot. See if the drives have returned. You may have to re-install CD burning applications, since they're the ones that tinker with the filter setting in the registry that caused the drives to disappear.

Hope this helps, if you need more information just comment back

How can i test the Dual layer function of the teac DV-w28E?

You will need to burn something to a Dual Layer DVD. They are more expensive, but do hold up to 9 GB

LG GSA E 40 L External dvd writer not recognised

you may be having conflicts with usb devices. try temporarily removing all unnecessary devices from the usb ports. unplug and then plug the drive back in. you could try another port. if all ports are in use, then unplug another device, like the mouse and plug in to that port, then plug the mouse into the writers port. i had a similar problem with a wireless usb lan that stopped another device from being recognised. when i removed the lan and replugged the unrecognised device, windows recognised it. i obviously had to use the wireless lan, so i swapped that with the mouse and it worked.

Won"t see blank disc

given my experience with memorex blanks, i think that you should just switch to another brand....memorex made great tape....the cd blanks are another story. I recommend, if you can find them, FUJI blanks that are made in Japan; they have a reputation as some of the best.

Need driver for Windows 2000

Hi there. Why do you need a driver for a dvd-rom drive ? It should be already supported by the operating system, isn't it ? The teac tech support doesn't even provide drivers for it. What is your issue exactly ? Thanks ! cheebster.
