Hello there,

Cough medicines are being prescribed to be taken only for ONE WEEK and your kid has been taking cough medicines for almost 10 days without development to his or her health. You should stop giving him/her those medicines and immediately consult the doctor regarding your kid's cough. The cough might have complications and continuously giving her medicines without doctor's prescription is not healthy. I would advice that you take him or her to the doctor or pediatrician.

I think the beta blocker I am taking is causing a very bad phlemy cough

Beta blocker medicines are not known for causing a persistent cough.

ACE inhibitors certainly are (eg Renitec), but it is commonly a dry cough, not like yours.

There are other classes of medicine for hypertension, so ask your doctor what the cough is, and if you can try an alternative type for a while.

What is the name of a antibiotic that the Dr. Would prescribed for a cough

the doctor would not prescribe ANY antibiotics for a cough, anti biotics are for infections,Viral Bacterial Fungal Rickettsial, unless you know which one you have,do not try to self diagnose, you could be allergic and get worse,if it is for an animal, antibiotics are different for certain animals and ppl cant take animal medicine or reverse, children should be taken to a doctor, here is how to treat a cough for humans,
Cough Treatment Coughs can be treated in a variety of ways, depending on the cause of the cough. For most healthy adults, most treatments will involve self-care.
  • Self-Treatment
    • keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water
    • elevate your head with extra pillows when sleeping
    • use cough drops to soothe the throat
    • gargle hot saltwater regularly to remove mucus and soothe the throat
    • avoid irritations, including smoke and dust
    • add honey or ginger to hot tea to relieve the cough and clear the airway
    • use decongestant sprays to unblock the nose and ease breathing

I have 2 cough medications. Which is stronger? BromedDMSYPMOR or Hydromet

Where did you buy the cough mixture and you cannot be very bright if you are asking unqualified people about medicine. I suggest you take both cough mixtures to a hospital or a chemist or a doctor so that they can give you the correct information. This is like you get sick and instead of going to the doctor for help you are going to your butcher, who is going to give you the correct advise???????????

My doctor told me to keep our cough medicines in a safe place as cough medicine abuse is fairly common in teens. Is that really true?

Unfortunately yes! Dextromethorphan is a common ingredient in cough and cold medications. Teens have increasingly been using it to get high. Apparently 1 in every 10 American teens have experimented DXM based products to get high. It's good to be informed and to speak to your teens about the potential dangers.
