My ipod touch 4th generation says -ipod is disabled connect to itunes- tried that and itunes wouldnt open unless unlocked my ipod and i cant. I tried restoring it and itunes said ipod can not be restored...

"iPod is disabled - Connect to iTunes" . This is because someone(or something?) has tried to crack your password too many times, which causes Iphone/Ipod to automatically disable itself to protect your data.

To restore your iPod, you must connect your iPod to iTunes with your iPod connector table. Make sure it is on and has this message when you connect it to your computer. Once connected, iTunes should detect it as usual.

Once connected, make sure you have all the proper sync settings enabled - for example, applications, music, photos, etc. Change something so that the Sync button in the bottom right appears in the iTunes window. Then sync the data.

When syncing is finished, turn on your iPod / iPhone and you should notice that the message is gone. Type in your password and the disabled message should be gone.

If the message is still there, try holding the sleep and home button at the same time until the iPod turns off, then continue holding the sleep and home button until a screen with the iTunes logo and a picture of the connector cable appears. This will put your iPod in Restore mode. With this option, you must click the Restore button in iTunes, which will delete all your data on the iPod.

MY IPOD IS DISABLED BECAUSE I FORGOT THE PASSWORD AND IT SAYS IPOD DISABLED CONNECT TO ITUNES WHEN I CONECT TO ITUNES IT SAYS ENTER PASSWORD HOW CAN I ENTER THE PASSWORD IF I FORGOT IT!!! I NEED HELP:(

Step 1: Turn on your computer, and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod.

Step 2: Open up iTunes on your computer.

Step 3: In iTunes, go to the left side of your screen and scroll down, when you see your iPod, select it.

Step 4: You should now see on the right side of your screen some general iPod information. Scroll down to until you see a "Restore" button. This will erase everything that was on the iPod, and sync whatever is in your iTunes library. It is the only known way.

I forgot my itunes password and security answer on my iphone

If you enter the password too many times it becomes disabled for security reasons. There is not a master code to unlock it. You will need to restore the ipod and reload from your library or from your back up.

Once at the computer you will need itunes open and your ipod connected

1) Make sure you have the latest version of itunes downloading
you can check this by going to { HELP>CHECK FOR UPDATES}

2)On the ipod hold the sleep wake button at the top and the home buttonon the bottom at the same time until you see the apple logo

3) Once you see the apple logo - release the sleep/wake button but remain holding the home button

4) You will see an error message from your computer

5) click ok - Then the restore button - the restore will take about 15- 20 minutes

Note: if you have previously backed up the ipod it will prompt you to restore from back up in the restore process

6) re - sync your content after the restore is complete

7) after sync disconnect and use

I hoped this helped-

** NOTE: If you get an error while restoring the ipod try and restore from another computer ***

Try turning off your ipod, holding the home button, and plugging it in, while still holding the home button, until a picture of the ipod cable appears pointing to the itunes symbol. this will reset you ipod, and you don't need the passcode to make it usable again.
