It is known problem of ccd imager failure in Canon A70 camera and ccd imager will be replaced to get live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures.

When turn on camera on screen is black

I think your Canon A70 camera does not show live view in camera mode to take pictures but show you previously stored picture properly in playback mode.
If that is true then Canon A70 camera got problem of bad ccd imager that will be replaced to get live vew in camera mode.

Internal memory

Sorry, most Canon cameras do not have internal flash memory (maybe the newer models? But the A70 definitely does not). Those other model cameras that do have internal memory only have a few megabytes. And this memory is primarily intended only to take a couple pics to verify that the camera is working properly.

Unable to take picture

Canon has posted a free repair recall of several models (including the A70), due to faulty connections of the LCD screen. The repair will be made regardless of warranty status:
