Im trying wipe my computer clean of any programs and start over again but i don't know where to go

I found this solution elsewhere. basically you want to try and do a factory restore , if this is no help do a google search on "Dell Dimension 5100 factory restore"

you might want to try restarting the computer and as soon as you see the Toshiba logo on the screen start pressing F1. if that doesn't work try again and this time press F8. look for an option that says something like restore this computer. im not sure this model has a recovery partition. if it doesn't you'll probably need to get your hands on a Windows XP disk. you could ask a friend with a dell computer they may have their disk. or you could try a flea market. but before you erase your computer you need to make sure you have your coa sticker on the compter still. it looks like the sample im providing. if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Surgically removing is teeedious
Leaving just the os and driversJust find your data folders and start purging but watch out ad remove programs can get sticky so with a backup you can dabble all you want.

If it has just dirt and minor scratches, you can use a soft cloth to clean it. Start from the center going to the edges of the disk. Don't wipe it in circular motion.

You should also try cleaning the lens of your PS2 by using any CD lens cleaner available in any computer or CD/DVD shops.

How do I correct this printing problem? My colored letters on the page print. Black print doesn't print onto the paper. I have a lexmark z615 printer.
Try to clean the print cartridge nozzles. On your computer, open the Lexmark Solution Center by going to the Start menu > Programs / All Programs > Lexmark Z600 Series > click the Maintenance tab > under Select Maintenance tool, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks > click Print. The printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
If that doesn't help, remove the black cartridge and try to manually wipe the cartridge nozzles with a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from dirt and clogs. After wiping the nozzles, reinsert the cartridge into the printer. Print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If the problem continues, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to identify if it's a faulty cartridge issue.

Hi,
According to the error code 1722, it is actually a windows installer error. What we need to do is to fix the Windows Installer.
Try the following fix below...
(Please note that before trying any of the solutions below, you must be logged into your computer as an Administrator.)

  • Check whether Windows Installer engine is functioning.

  1. Click Start > Accessories > Command Prompt.

  2. At the command prompt, type MSIExec and press Enter. MSI refers to the Windows Installer.

  3. In the MSI engine is working, you should see no error messages. However, if you see an error message, note down the error. Search for it in a search engine such as Google to find troubleshooting solutions.

  4. Now try to install or uninstall the program again. If the problem persists, go to the next fix.

  • Check that Windows Installer service is not disabled.

  1. Click Start and type service.msc in the Search box and press Enter.

  2. The Services window is opened. Right-click on 'Windows Installer' service, then click 'Start'. The service needs to start without any errors.

  3. Now try to install or uninstall your program again. If it persists, try the next fix.

  • Check for latest version of Windows Installer.

  1. Click Start > Accessories > Command Prompt.

  2. Once the command prompt window opens up, type MSIExec and press Enter. If MSI engine is working, you should see no error messages, and it should open a separate dialog box, which shows the MSI version.

  3. If the installer version doesn't show as version 4.5, download the latest version athttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/942288/

  4. Now try to install or reinstall your program again. If it still persists, try the next fix.

  • Reregister the installer engine.

  1. Click Start > Accessories > Command Prompt.

  2. At the command prompt, first type MSIExec / unregister, then press Enter and type MSIExec / regserver

  3. Now try to install or reinstall your program again.

  • Clean your CD or DVD media.

  1. If you are trying to install the program from a CD or DVD media, use a CD or DVD disc cleaning kit.

  2. You can also gently wipe the silver side of the disc with a soft, lint-free cotton cloth. Make sure you do not use paper or other rough cloth as this can scratch the plastic or leave streaks that can damage the disk. Make sure you wipe the disk from the center outward and not circular motion.

  3. If you use a damp cloth or commercial disk cleaning solution, wipe the disc thoroughly before inserting into the drive.

  • Copy installation files to your computer.

  1. If you are using a removable or external media to install the program, copy the installation files from there to your computer's hard drive and then run the installation file from that location. It is usually called autorun.exe or setup.exe. If you are not sure, just check the Readme file in the setup folder about how to start the installation.

  2. Unless there is no .exe file present in the setup folder, we do not recommend that you run .msi files directly.

  • Terminating other programs running on your computer.

  1. Click Start and type msconfig in the Search box.

  2. One the 'General' tab, click 'Selective startup', then click to clear the 'Load startup items' checkbox.

  3. Click 'Services' tab, click 'Hide all Microsoft services', and then click 'Disable all'.

  4. Click OK, then click Restart.

  5. After the computer restarts, try to run your program installation.

  6. Once you have finished troubleshooting the problem, restart your computer again.

  7. Click Start, type msconfig in the Search box. Click on the 'General' tab, click 'Normal startup', click OK, then click Restart.

When i try the acer system recovery it keeps coming up with an error that says windows could not install and setup with resume when computer restarts..restarts ands same box pops up? cannot get past that...
Have you tried booting to the system recovery again and starting it over? Otherwise you may need to wipe it clean and start from scratch. Download a program like Darik's boot an dnuke to wipe the hard drive clean (this will destroy all data on the hard drive, including system recovery data if that is saved on the hard drive instead of CD's.) Then try the system recovery again (if it's on CD's)

My Xbox 360 disc is scratched and I can't play it.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!(How do I fix it???)
Try fogging it with your breath and wipe the disc from the INSIDE circle and straight OUT to the outside rim of it. Don't rub all around the disc; it'll just ruin it. Start from the inside, wipe straight out. Alternatively, you could use a glasses cleaning polishing cloth. Again, wipe from the inside out. Then add some glass cleaner onto it and (once again) wipe it gently. If you have any Carnauba car wax, use a small amount on there; it'll fill in the scratches that are there. For the last time, wipe from the inside out. It's a lot, I know, but I hope it works for you.

Im having prblems with my toshiba nb250, after i change o.s. ...it wont boot anymore.....i checked the hard disks and memory to refresh it...it seems ok,...... what seems to be the problem...i really cant...
what os did you have before, and what os do you have now? because the problem could be that if you went from xp to 7 or vista or vice versa, they use different programs to boot, but unless you did a complete hard drive wipe, both boot programs will still be there and interfere with each other. so if you did a clean install, your going to have to do again, but this time your going to do a complete hard drive wipe before installing the os. if you upgraded from xp to 7, then try using the start up repair, it should come up if your os doesn't boot up, or if it doesn't come up, then try inserting the cd, it should appear there. if you need further assistance, let me know, and goodluck.

My computer wont boot up
If your computer was infected then it is still infected unless you have used an anti virus program to remove the infection. After removing the virus you then can install xp. Hope this helps.

My Dell Dimension 5100 computer fails to start when pressing the on/start button. There are no lights illuminated/blinking at the on switch. After considerable troubleshooting I discovered I can start the system by momentarily grounding the green wire (power supply start) on the 24 pin power supply connector and then pressing the start switch. Does this mean the startup logic circuit on the motherboard has failed and the motherboard must be replaced?
