Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? Ifnot then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's powersocket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Suddenly power failure ,when the power returning the pc switched ON the SMPS fan and PC also not working.

My advise to you is to never turn of your computer!
the constant start and stop put stress on your power supply not to mention dust build up and if not properly cleaned the startup process can cause a short which I've seen so many times.
I have a computer which is 8 years old I never wanted to turn it off but leaving for two weeks vacation I turn it off. On my return the startup it shorted yeah dust build up.I had to replace the power supply, still running now. (A warm drive is a happy drive)

I have an ASUS X83V. All of a sudden the charger that came with the computer stopped working and the computer went dead. I purchased a compatible charger for the computer and it worked for about a week...

From the information you gave, my guess is that there's a problem with the power supply section of your laptop, or the chargers that you're buying aren't actually compatible... but it's more likely that it's the first case. If the laptop is under warranty, you should contact ASUS and get them to repalce the motherboard. If not, you could spend a lot of money replacing power cords every week. Good luck!

ASUS 1005HA netbook suddenly always restarts

Good day sir/maam, the sudden restart of you notebook, may be cause by a sudden fluctuation of AC mains, it could also be cause by other sources such as nearby machineries. which boils down to the notebook's power supply module. Is it capable of supplying good descent power to your notebook. Try moving to other places, such as well at work or any place where you think there is stable power. Hope this helps. thanks
