SOURCE: Cannot access my modems home page.

Nore than likley that is the default LAN IP address that came with the device. It has probably been changed during the initial setup. A quick way to tell is go to your start button/ select run / type in the run box CMD / this brings up a dos shell in the dos window type IPCONFIG and hit enter.. Note your IP address and your default gateway.. " the default gateway is your device in question. make sure your IP address matches your gateay with the exception of the last 3 octects. so it should read something like this

IP Address 192.168.1.50
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1

My guess is that your not on the "1" network but the router is handing out a different range of address if that is the case in the dos window type ping (the ip address of your default gateway)
like so ping 192.168.X.X where X = the octet values of the default gateway listed in the dos window

If it replies then your talking just fine you are simply trying to access your router via the wrong IP so take the IP of the gateway listed from the ipconfig command and put that number in your browser.

If this is not the case then we need to go in a different direction with this.

Step 4 : If not working Hard reset the router by inserting a paper clip into the reset hole on the back of the router

Step 5 : If the IP Address is any public address or 169.254.x.x then also do step 4

SOURCE: how to change router settings for BUffalo WCR-G54

This is actually wrong: http://192.168.0.11.1

If your router is connected to your computer via ethernet cable you will be able to get the configuration page of the router.

Windows XP
1. Click start
2. Click run
3. Type cmd in the box and press enter
4. On the black screen type ipconfig and press enter
5. Look for the default gateway
6. Copy that and use that to access the configuration page using the internet explorer
7. Open internet explorer, type http://the default gateway you copied in the address bar of the internet explorer
ex: http://192.168.1.0

Windows Vista
1. Click pearl button (start in xp)
2. Click on start search box (run in xp)
3. Type cmd in the box
4. Right click the black icon up at the top
5. Click on run as administrator
6. Click on continue
7. On the black screen type ipconfig and press enter
8. Look for the default gateway
9. Copy that and use that to access the configuration page using the internet explorer
10. Open internet explorer, type http://the default gateway you copied in the address bar of the internet explorer
ex: http://192.168.1.0

SOURCE: set up router/modem as instructed

Problem can't be solved as described, a fixer would need more details.

What kind of modem/router is it?
What instructions are you working from so far (you say, "as instructed" so I take it you're looking at a Quick Start Guide of some sort?)
How are you connected to it?
What http address are you going to (E.g. some routers use 192.168.1.1, others 192.168.1.254 or various alternatives)
What happens when you enter that address on a browser?
Have you set your computer's address to a nearby address so it can talk to the route?

If I had one guess with not enough information, I'd say you need to set your PC to an address one different from the target you're going to.

I will never buy any electronic devises form best buy anyway. This is why there product is not top grade. It may appear it is on the out side but its not. Go to a specialty store that sells electronics and look at the prices. Now you tell me how in the hell can best but or walmart or any other sstores sell ther products at a lower price. Don't come with they buy at wholesale prices that is *********. The products are lower grade. And that is the bottom line. If best buy dosent stand behind there products 100% and have to charge customers a 15% restocking fee don't shop there. It all goes buy the old saying you pay for what you get.
