Try to charge the phone and power it on, take note, if the chargers metallic point makes contact with the metallic part of the charging port, then the phone will not come on unless you remove the battery and insert it back in. Ensure the battery's metallic point is making proper contact with the phones battery terminals.

First of all you need to run a quick check on the phone before we can conclude that the phone is bad and need to be repaired. Remove the battery and insert it back in then try to turn it on.
