Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

When I turn on the oven or broiler, the preheat light blinks but why don't the elements heat?

If heating elements are not working, possibly it is caused by electrical issue. You need to check the wires that lead to the heating element hook-up to the heating element. There could be a bad wire or loose connection that is causing the heating element to not work. You may check this using a voltage meter. See attached illustration below for your reference on the details about where to aim the voltage meter. Please proceed with caution when testing this.

If there is no electrical issue on the heating element, possibly the elements are defective and need a replacement.

Why does my GE gas dryer #DBL333YOWW start hot and gets cold right away?

It might be one of the electric components such as the thermostat.

My Estate Dryer has never been hooked up until now, it comes on but does not get hot or dry the clothes at all, also it has never been used, Please tell me how to fix this problem!

if the dryer comes on but does not dry, you have a voltage problem at the plug or the pig tail is hooked up wrong on the back of the dryer, get a volt meter and check the voltage coming in, you should have 240v....if for shore the dryer hasn't been hooked up or ever used. it could also be a bad heating element. but considering its a new dryer, i'd check the voltage at the plug and check the plug hook up

Just bought a kenmore 61202 dryer. Hooked it up - everthing works but I have no heat? It is an electric dryer

Hi,
I would check to see if you have the correct voltage to the dryer at the plug in point. Also check the cord to the dryer with a meter to assure it is the same as the wall connection. It seems something is missing there.
Good Luck

We recently purchased a GE dryer and were told it is electric or gas operated, the dryer runs but is not heating up. i think it might be because it isnt getting enough electricitry, but i cant get the back...

If your dryer came with a regular grounded cord attached, it is a gas dryer, and you will have to hook up a gas line to the 3/8 pipe nipple at the lower left corner (when viewed from behind). The 4 prong power cord is only used for electric only models. If still unsure, post the model number from the sticker inside the door of the dryer.
