Not working ASUS Z53S. Only Setting reset but password not !

Lefaucheux16, tell what KIND of PW it is first, Bios or windows or what? we can not guess.
if so confused, post a photo of failing screens.
did PC run ok last week and fails out of the blue? today , NOT TOLD

ASUS Z53S , is old CORE2 laptop... if fails out of the blue the RTC coin cell is dead.

(remove huge battery first) and run only on AC power first. does it fail now?
ASUS Z53S is 2007 made, and is now 14 years old and all batteries in it are bad, that old.
if the RTC coin goes dead, BIOS GOES DEAD or wacky, this is what all PCs do , like that.
see this video, and at this 4.34 minute mark see silver coin cell RTC holder just below the fan.? bingo!

why not ask at ASUS.com for help

"Not working ASUS Z53S. Only Setting reset but password not !"

can you decode this to English for us

PCs this old all batteries are now bad and the small one called RTC ,must be replaced.
if The RTC is not replaced the BIOS goes nuts, mad, crazy and random and lies to you
it can in fact make screen dead or even ask for a password ,ever ever SET BY YOU.

2007 laptop yours, the RTC battery is here. hard work getting there, the VIDEO shows that clear as day.

  • Anonymous Jul 14, 2021

if bad this RTC It can not be ignored, ever. <<< hard facts of life that.

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7229632-reset_or_remove_bios_password
In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD (Kill CMOS will do the job) as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Need the to reset bios pasword for asus aspire 5020

the easiest way to do this is to unplug the computer from the power point, open the computer case so you can see the motherboard(circuit board) and to carefully remove the round watch battery about the size of a 10 cent piece from the mother board for a minute and put back in, this will reset the bios and remove the password.
