The Samsung LN40B540P8F I would rate a 9. Only God is 10.

All the DLP sets, you can throw out

All the Older Projection sets you can throw out

I would take the rest for scrap parts.

I hope this is helpful.

Screen replacement

someone gave me a maxent mx26x3 with the same problem. I took the back cover off, and then the metal shield covering the PC board. There is a green heat sink on the main processing chip. The heat sink was not making good contact. I slightly twisted and pushed the heatsink on the the chip, and the picture stayed perfect now for 2 days. I think the heatsink will eventually need to be re-glued on with thermal expoy glue. It will be a pain to remove and clean though

Ineed a manual for a Fisher VCR

This may help.
Hold down tv power enter the 2 digit code using number buttons 0-9 then release tv power button
Admiral 05, 10 13 - Emerson 17 - Fisher 03 – GE 07 – Gold Star 01 – Hitachi 02 – JVC 15 – Magnavox 08 – Matsushita 12, 18 - Mitsubishi 14 – Panasonic 12, 18 - Quasar 12, 18 – RCA 06 – Samsung 16 – Sanyo 03 – Sharp 00, 13 - Sony 11 – Technolace 05 – Toshiba 04 – Zenith 09,10
And now the impossible clock setting. Turn unit on press clock while holding down the shift button. Press fast forward or rewind to change hours, then press adjust while holding down shift button to select the minutes again use the fast forward or rewind arrows to change minutes then again the adjust and shift combo to start clock.
Good luck Kevin
