Question about Visioneer OneTouch 8900 Flatbed Scanner
Posted by Anonymous on
First install your regular drivers for your scanner and then turn it off.
Download drivers for your scanner from the page above, don't mind it is not the same model - it will work. Also it will work with One touch 8700 Visioneer windows 7 x64 with the drivers for 8900 and 9420.
Next, install the driver, and then open Windows Explorer i locate files at:
C:\Windows\twain_32\VizScan\8xxx. Copy them all to:
C:\Program Files\Visioneer\OneTouch 4.0\9420 Driver
Next step is to tell your computer exactly what driver to use by right clicking on My Computer in Windows Explorer, then Properties, and then Device Manager. Now, turn on your scanner and it will appear on the list. Right click on it and select Properties. There click "Browse my computer for driver software" and then "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" and browse to: C:\Program Files\Visioneer\OneTouch 4.0\9420 Driver. Select OT_9420.inf and install it. Now u can use your scanner on Win7 and enjoy! Don't mind the different name! ;)
All the best to ya all

Very Helpful, now I don't have to buy a new scanner. I found that I also needed to upgrade my old Paper Port 7 so that it was compatible with my 64 bit computer. I found a great free alternative, XnView (http://www.xnview.com/en/xnview.html) that works perfectly. Now I am better off than before. Thanks so very much for your help.
