I have a hotpoint wmd960, it does not rinse the soap properly. This is especially noticable on black clothes. I have tried rinsing the machine & also cleaning the soap dispenser & tube. I have been told there is a filter to clean! Is correct? If so where is it.

I had this problem - now only use liquid detergent and half the recommended dose and have no problem. The machine uses very little water so powder detergent sometimes does not dissolve - especially on shorter cycles - and therefore does not get rinsed away. Try the liquid detergent!

I have a older top loader model. My clothing has white soappowder marks on after a wash, especially my dark clothing. What can the cause be.

Possible causes:
1. Too much soap.
2. Water not hot enough to dissolve soap.
3. Not rinsing well enough.
4. Wrong type of soap.
Suggestion: try liquid soap.

Hi, I've got a hotpoint WF000G which wont rinse properly on a fast wash, still soap suds on the clothing and have to put it on a full rinse cycle to get rid of them. Have tried clearing the filter (which...

Use very little detergent (HE) on a fast wash, about half the amount you usually do and set the machine to heavy instead of nomal, if yours has the settings for water level. The heavy setting uses more water. If your model does not have the normal/heavy settings, wash only very small loads on the fast cycle so that there is more water for the cycle. Also, be sure you are rinsing in cold, since cold water dispurses suds. You should also be sure that your rubber seal is very clean. I use a cloth and plain hot water and clean the seal weekly. It can build up alot of detergent residue as well as mold, etc.

I have a hotpoint wm54 and it is not rinsing or spinning properly, at the end of the cycle the clothes are dripping wet & soapy, however if i manually put on to rinse and spin it seems to work!

You need to check and clean the pump filter.
Remove rear panel od washer, locate and remove large black hose on bottom of drum, remove and clean filter inside the hose.

Whirpool Duet - Soap not getting into wash cycle

O.K. Is the water draining out properly? If the filter is blocked then your washing will be churning in dirty water as the machine will drain for a maximum time then rinse etc. in the used water.

Suds residue left on clothes just washed

ck drain hose end of drain hose should be at least 36 ins from floor also be sure drain hose fits loosely in drain water may be siphoning out resulting low water level to wash/rinse ..also recommend using liquid detergent dry doesn't dissolve good in cold water and even though it may be recommended for front load the lower water levels used may not be enough to dissolve it properly

Dishes have soap residue despite using rinse aid. Machine is quite abrasive on coffee mugs etc. Unit is Fisher & Paykel DD605SS

use less soap.....excess soap in the rinse cycle will not allow the dishes to rinse properly causing white etching on the glasses and the dishes will have that gritty feeling

My hotpoint aqualtis smells awful. the smell is coming from the drum. we have taken the pump off and although this smelled it was nowere near as bad as what is coming from the drum.

run a large load with no clothes and no soap. use hot water and a full gallon or more of bleach. do an extra rinse to make sure all the bleach is rinsed out before putting clothes in it again.

Does not spin and rinse properly

Sounds like motor is not coming up to spin speed. May be overheating, in which case you would need a new motor.
