I have an acer aspire 5100 with a built in webcam and by mistake i uninstalled the driver for the webcam, i found the driver on the acer website and downloaded and installed it.Itr said the installation was successful byut i do not know how to take pictures or anything

Uninstall webcam and restart computer it should automatically reinstall the driver for the camera and if not try updating the computer if still not working go to Acer support and look for the drivers and software for the type of Acer you have witch is the 4720i and make sure also you are installing for x64 or x32 bit computer found in your PC Properties... Hope that helps....

The Camera Driver should be listed in the Device Manager to use the Camera
You can down load drivers from Acer support site. There're 2 drivers: Bison and Suyin. Either will work. Just choose the drivers for your operating system and install it. Let me know how you make out.
uninstall the driver - access the Acer website - download the latests webcam driver and reinstall the webcam driver. If that fails go a full operating system recovery.
