Was the card formatted? The TX doesn't come with a built-in file viewing or file management application for SD cards. Depending on the type of files, you should be able to view those files (or lists of them) with the application that is appropriate to those files...i.e. Documents with Documents To Go, music with PocketTunes, etc. Also, some applications will look for files in particular folders. Music files should be in the /audio folder, for example. When you format the card in the Palm using the Card Info application, it creates these folders automatically. But, you want to be able to view the files with something like a Windows Explorer app, right? The free answer is something called FileZ. Google the name and you'll find it...maybe at www.freewarepalm.com or other sites. It does the job and it's free. But for something that's really the cat's meow in Palm file viewers, check out Resco Explorer. It does much more, including a .zip application, and other things. But it's not free. Check it out at www.resco.net or www.handango.com.

My computer that I sync my Palm TX to was "wiped" clean. What steps would I need to take to be able to resync my Palm TX to the computer and not loose everything I have stored on my Palm TX?

Palm Desktop and HotSync won't destroy the data on your device if you have a fresh copy that doesn't have your data backed up. That said, however, look for free utilities that will back up your TX's data to an SD card should HotSync wipe your TX as well.

I lost the Application feature on the Palm TX.How can I restore it back?

Do you know how you lost it? It should be hard programmed in the palm. It should be accessible by pressing the home key once or twice.
If I'm misunderstanding you and Application is an icon that you haven't personally deleted then your handheld may be in a different category than what you want. Tap the word at the top righthand corner of the screen and a drop down menu should show itself. Tap the top option which should display all icons installed (but not on a SD card) and hopefully that'll get things cleared up.
Hope this helps!

Tungsten E2 doesn'nt recognise the extension card (SD card etc.)No tone when inserted! Is there any special software like MMC or MM.prc with what actuality needed version necessary? Palm OS is at level ...

If it's over 4 gigs, don't even try. SDHC is not supported on the TX or anything earlier. There is a website, www.palmpowerups.com, that might have what you need. It's full of stuff like that.

I dont know find the dictinary

The palm tx does not come with a dictionary. However there are numerous dictionaries on the web that can be downloaded to your sd card. If funds are an issue there is an excellent freeware program called Noah Pro. It is no longer in development bu you can still find it with a google search. Oh, and like I said it's free! They also have a Thesaurus. Hope that helps.

Can't open palm pilot IIIxe on computer (Vista)

VIsta does not support your early generation Palm Pilot.

It barely supports the current TX but there are workarounds.
Hope you kept your old computer for a backup. :+) but its understandable if you didn't.

They recently released a more stable version but plenty of users still have difficulty. The workaround is to load files for any third party product (docs, videos, images) via the SD memory card.Users reported they could update via bluetooth or wi-fi for the Palm's own software. However, this is not an option for your model.

Later models with an SD card option still have to be initialized and prepared for the Palm from an older XP computer first. It's a workaround, not a match. I'm not up to date so users may have a stable sync system/method now with Vista. Check the forums.

Your model does not have an SD option this as it is an early generation model. You may continue to run this older model on older computers.

I am not recommending you buy a new personal device until you research on Brighthand and other user forums. Take advantage of other peoples experiences re: Vista. It will save you a lot of grief and help you decide when and whether to upgrade.

from Wicki and product info:
The first two generations of PDAs from Palm were referred to as "PalmPilots" which upgraded to external memory slots and firmware-upgradeable flash memory after the Palm III series.
The next versions of Palm used Palm OS 3.1. These included Palm IIIx with 4 Megabytes of memory. Compare this to the TX which has 128 MB of non-volatile storage and current OS of 5.4.

The TX released in October of 2005, as part of Palm's Fall 2005 product cycle. It features 802.11b, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. It was priced at $299. It runs Garnet, version 5.4.9. It largely replaced the earlier, costlier T5. <In my experience, It usually runs as low as $200 during Black Friday (Thanksgiving time). With discounts and indirect rebates, it can go as low as $150. FYI, With the move to Smartphones, this model will not have continued development from the company. >

On top is a slot for SD expansion cards. The slot is also SDIO and MMC compatible. 2 GB cards are usable directly.
<in my research, Only SD, not SD HC (high capacity) cards are compatible. 4GB SD only cards are difficult to find now that SDHC are the norm. It's not a issue for me since those also use more power. 2GBs can be had as low as $6 with creative dealing.>

Install msn messenger on a palm tx

That program isn't compatible with Palm. I believe there is an internet version they have on the website but I don't think that is working as well.

Up-grading from tungsten E2 to TX existing SD card not recognised

What size SD card are you using? TX supports 2Gig cards with no prb. I did hear that some are having prbs with 4Gig cards. Also, make sure that the card isn't locked from being read, by checking the little slider knob on the card.
