Lap top will not boot up. sometimes the reboot will come on, but once it is run nothing happens.

Hi friends

I think your laptop infected by virus ,you should better to delete partition and create partition and format all the drive and install OS again.

You also can save the private data do some steep.
after installation STELER PHONIX just copy and paste,after d-click on the icon you can easily recover the data.

Hi there,
First off, would it be possible for you to give us a little more detail on the problem, such as, does the finder open? is your dock onscreen? does your wallpaper appear?
As far as i can see, your best bet woud be to reboot your imac with the OSX disk in. Then boot your computer and before you hear the chime hold down the C key on your keyboard. this will boot from the disk. Once it has loaded, select your language, and then go to the utilities menu at the top and find disk utility. open it and run repair disk and repair permissions.
after this, shut down and take the disk out and reboot as normal. Any change?

We have a Toshiba Satellite lap top. It was working about an hour ago, when we down loaded a BIOS upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5. After the down load and reboot the lap top now has a black screen with no wording....
BIOS updates sometimes cause the motherboard to revert to its default configuration. I recommend that you go into the BIOS setup and examine the Boot Devices and Boot Order to make sure that your hard drive is selected as the first boot device.

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top
Insert your installer to the lap top then try to change the boot up priority by entering the bios. Try to press del key while your lap top boot. If these deosn't wok try F1 or F2 thesame process. If you have enter the BIOS, look for the boot priority which includes the First Boot, 2nd Boot and 3rd boot. Change the 1st boot to CDROM and the 2nd boot to hardisk. Then save the changes by pressing F10. your PC will reboot and it will direct you to the OS installation.

Got power, frozen machine

okay what you need to do is if you have the system restore cd use that , it will reformat your lap top even if it cant reboot just put in the cd when you start up the computer and it will restore everything you may lose alot of things but atleast your lap top will work after , if not then Reply to me at Jonk3y at Aol.com and i will gladly help you with your problem

Dropped lap top now wont boot up
press the fn key on laptop hold it down and then press the power key on the laptop. once u see any display on the screen you will get some tests running on the screen. The system will show you the error message which u need to note down. else you can do a Flea Power on your laptop. Remove the adapter and the battery and then press the power button and hold it down for 30 seconds then connect the battery and adapter back and try to turn on the laptop. See if the magic works for you

the pc is standing at command prompt, which means it is unable to find the boot.ini file required to boot into windows

When you say you pressed F8 did you keep pressing it until you got a menu saying Safe Mode,last known good configuration, start in VGA mode etc, if so use last known good configuration and let it reboot.

If still nothing then you will need the windows cd to perform a system repair.
