Our oven won't work. it is a convection oven, and it won't heat at all. the stovetop does work, but when we turn the oven on it says "low" and never heats up. the fan does turn on when we try to heat the convection. I don't know if it is a heating element or something else, and I don't know where to look to troubleshoot. Thanks.

Hi

If the fan is working then most likely it is the heating element gone bad.

You can check this if you have a multimeter or continuity tester.

Replacing the element is not too difficult, you have to get the back off, disconnect 2 wires, undo the fixing screws then fit the new one.

Don't forget to turn the power off first tho'.

Oven nor stove top works

Hi Myron,
I understand that you are having trouble with your oven, model# FGES3045KF, not working/heating, even though the display screen is showing everything to be working fine. I suggest to give your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by switching the circuit breaker off for 3-5 minutes. Once the 3-5 minutes has passed, switch the circuit breaker back on. The first thing you will need to do, is to set the time. You will do this by entering in the time and pressing start. Turn the oven on. If you are still having trouble with the oven not working/heating, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician to come and diagnose the oven, to see why it will not work correctly.

-Best Regards-

Oven won't heat.

Good Afternoon Gwen - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty bake or broil element. I would strongly recommend consulting a professional to narrow down the precise issue before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.

Oven won't bake

Sounds like a connection issue to the control panel and the lower portion of the unit. Contact a professional to have the unit diagnosed unless you find the ohm reading to be off for either broil or bake element.

Oven will not come on

There is a oven controller on those type ovens and if you cannot get your oven to heat up but the stove top still works it is because there are on different circuits and the cotroller will cost near $350 if you have a convection oven and twice that for a service person to install!!

Oven is not heating...the convection fan blows, but no heat

If the oven is electric and fan assisted, then I would suggest that the oven fan element is faulty.
Plz rate this solution.
