Check to make sure you have the correct driver for your operating syytem; are you running Windows 7 (32-bit) or Windows (64-bit)?
Go to
Start >
Device and Printers >
System Check under System type to confirm your operating system.
If you do not have the correct driver you can download from
here. Make sure you also download the three (3)
Utility- Diagnostic Tools. These may be able to help resolve your problem if you do not already have them.

If you feel you have the correct driver properly installed try running the Scan Diagnostic Tool. If you are unsure about the driver I would start there with an uninstall of the current driver and download of an updated driver for the installed operating system.
