I have an HP Photosmart C7180 Printer. I recently reinstalled Win7 OS and now I'm unable to get the scanning feature to appear in HP's Solution Center application. After connecting my printer wirelessly to my pc (I am able to print), and I to access the Solution Center to scan a document, I get an error message from the HP Solution Center: HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete.

All lot of those printers came with two separate driver's disc. Make sure that you are installing the correct for the mac and not windows. If you are you can go to the hp website and do a search on there website for the driver for mac operating system.
go to following location and try to scan and tell me if it is scanning fine or same issue.
c:\program files\hp\digital imaging\bin in bin folder locate following files. /* in 64bit operating system inspite of program files look into programe files(x86).*/
1.> hpqscnvw
2.> hpqscnappi
3.> hpqdstcp.
4.> hpqgrpky.
double click on any of these it will start scanning.
You would need to download the software for your printer again and then install it on your computer. You can download it from here. Once it is installed, look for the scanner icon or HP Director which would have scanner icon.
I had this very same problem yesterday & solved it, after about 4 hours, with a clean install!!
