Hi, You have told that blue screen comes only if you connect your nvidia display/graphics card. Usually Blue screen comes if there is some problem with the hardware or due to incompactible hardware drivers. Remove the nvidia card from you system. Reinstall your system and then install all the drivers present in your motherboard cd. After that go to nvidia website, download the latest driver for your nvidia display/graphics card driver. Now connect your nvidia hardware back to your motherboard. Before that clean the dust particles present in the motherboard connecting terminals, if any. Now boot your system into safe mode. Restart your system into normal mode, install the latest driver downloaded for your nvidia hardware. Now everything should work fine. If you get bluescreen again, remove the card from system, restart into safe mode, uninstall the driver. Check the hardware in someother system, to detect wheather the problem is with your nvidia card or not. I hope this will help you out.
most if not all of the device drivers for this motherboard are integrated to just about any latest linux distribution,
- the ethernet/lan/network device should work automatically after installation, activate it using the ifconfig eth0 up command : user@localhost# ifconfig eth0 up
- sound device should work after initializing the sound device from ALSA sound server using these commands : user@localhost# alsaconf user@localhost# alsamixer user@localhost# alsactl store
- integrated video device can use the kernel integrated nvidia driver "nv" or download and install the latest binary video driver for linux from nvidia.com
well, the first step is to make sure the sound drivers are installed properly. Does the device show up properly in the Device Manager? Does it show up in the Audio/Sounds configuration item in the Control Panel? If so, then:
Does any sound work, and it's just the extra channels that do not operate? If that is the case, you probably just need to run the configuration wizard. It sometimes sits in the tray, but almost always is available in the Control Panel. Once you run it you can pick what kind of speakers you have to control the various sound outputs properly for your setup.
In the search bar on the left hand side, input your model number (A7N266-VM) and run a search. Unfortunately I can't provide you with a direct link to your model's driver download page due to the way the website is coded, but it is very easy to naviagate the Asus support site.
