Toshiba Satellite M45-S331 notebook, os xp. Change hard drive couldn't use recovery disk, put in each driver from recovery disk after installing os. Blue screen states the bios in this system is not fully...

The thing is that windows xp ..usually does not have the drivers for teh acpi or achi mode and you need to get into bios and disable teh mode and let the hard disk to run in IDE compatible or sata as ide..
the function can be disabled in the same screen where teh hard disk and other sata and ide devices are presented..
After you disable the achi mode..it will work ..remember that you have to save changes with F10 before exit bios..
another way to make this work ..is install the windows xp in this mode..after you are done ..just install all drivers for it ..including raid and ahci drivers..and change it back from bios..It may work ..if it sees the drivers..
or ..you need to install the drivers when you get to teh press F6 to install 3rd party drivers....and you have to find a way to get them ...cause this operation is done usually b yusing a floppy diskette so ..to have a chance to do it .. you need to try to install them from a usb or install windows from usb and use the disk with drivers in the optical drive ..
If I would be in your place I would not complicate myself and just go to bios and change the bus mode for the hard disk ..save changes and reinstall operation system if needed..or go on from where it was..It will see the hard disk and no longer give you the blue screen

Can't find updated ACPI Bios for toshiba satellite m45 s331. If found how to install? Getting blue screen Bios in this system not fully ACPI compliant.

I already explained in the other post ..The action required is either install a 3rd party raid and ahci driver ..and if you do not have the possibility ..just c\go to bios and enable the hard disk bus to work as ide..(disable ahci mode) I'm not sure how it will appear ..but you have to look under the bus mode..where the hard disk is seen ..It will appear as ahci enabled..and need to be disabled or ..will have raid mode enabled..and need to set it as native ..or ide compatible

Toshiba satellite s2652 internet connection problems

You have wiped all drivers by formatting and need to go to friends PC / download latest drivers for the exact model laptop from the vendors site and install them.

NB = install mobo driver FIRST.

Best thing about drivers on the net is that they are later than the ones with the laptop from new.

Wireless card not functioning/disabled after loading XP in a Compaq Presario C700T CTO Notebook PC

The wireless is not going to turn on and off via the switch properly until we get the drivers loaded to make it work. There are 3 possible types of wireless card it could be, so we have to find out the exact model number of your system. On the bottom there should be a label that has a P/N or part number listed. what are those numbers. Here's an example of the label:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00033108&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=3632144&dlc=en

or

http://tinyurl.com/35dt4h

we need the info listed for #1, #2 and #3. Then we should be able to determine which adapter you have, and then we can (hopefully) find some Windows XP drivers for you.
