Connecting Bose Acoustimas Wofer to a Sony receiver

Hello! I have the bose speakers and Acoustimass System woofer, I am trying to connect the woofer to a Sony receiver model STR DE997 but the cables that come with the Bose don't seem to work. Any idea which cable I could use?

Bose acoustimass 3 system connect to TV without receiver

Manuals (randomly chose a Series 2 from 1990-1994 - if not that, then choose the series from the Bose site)

There are a number of different models. Assuming you don't have a Powered version of the speakers (You'll know you do if you have to plug the subwoofer into AC power)
For the Unpowered systems, the subwoofer plugs into the Speaker R and L outputs of a receiver or an amplifier, so you will have to provide amplification. The satellites plug into the subwoofer and are NOT intended for direct connection to an amplifier.

You should be able to use whatever amplifier has audio inputs from your TV, and regular speaker wire connections out.

Bose woofer acoustimass 20

Have a acoustimas 20 woofer. Since it is the only thing I have I tried to custom connect it to a source (my mp3 player) to get a signal. It all worked fine by soldering the wire terminals straight to the pins of the DIN. All worked fine until I turned up the volume on walman and maxed out the 2 settings on the woofer, The woofer died after that. I am trying to find what could have gone wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a pair of redline bose cube speakers and an acoustimas. I don't have cable for the connection. I would appreciate if someone help me showing diagram and which cable I should use it. Thanks

You can make a serial cable for it. All you need is a 15-pin d-type female connector and a bunch of speaker wire. Solder the speaker wire as shown in my diagram.

Cube speakers w/ no subwoofer

I have the acoustimas systrem and the speakers do need the sb. That's the heart of the system.
I dropped my two front cubes and neither work. If you would be willing to sell yours at a reasonable price I would be willing to buy.
Please contact Bose customer support and I believe they will tell yiou the same thing.

Please let me know.

Can I connect my Bose Acoustimass 5 - Series II to Bravia unit?

Yes, there should be no issues using your Bose speakers with your Sony receiver. Sony has a "hookup guide" to help here -

Bose speaker connection

The Bose systems are SYSTEMS for a very good reason. They're made for people who want good sound but don't want to manipulate the hardware much. The speakers and amps are designed for each other ONLY, not only electrically but through soundshaping to provide the smooth final result. The design is for you to feed the electronics a Line Level source and the magic and distribution happens internally. These are NOT mix 'n' match components. The special connectors are a clue. The Yamaha will probably blow them up if you manage to succeed with your plan.

Initial Bose Speakr Hook-Up Acoust 10-Denon RCVR

Hope this may help but you will disappointed. as heard from some pro, your amp will blow up the bose cube if direct connected to them, they are powering down your output to fit their tiny speaker. My understanding was you have to hook up everything to the bose module. They don't like to play with others.
