You need a cable with mini-phone plug at both ends (Radio Shack), one end is plugged into the monitor audio input jack (Green), the other end will be plugged into the PC audio line out jack (Green).

If the DVD doesn't start when you place it in the player, look for the Play button on the remote control. There may be a TV/DVD switch on the remote that would need to be changed to DVD.

CHECK YOUR SYSTEM SPEAKERS, IF IN OPTIONS, CHECK FOR MUTE, OR CHANGE THE SPEAKERS...TRY THIS, THERES AUDIO OUT IN YOUR SYSTEM TV, PLAY NORMAL TV, PUT AUDIO CABLE INTO THE AUDIO OUT, AND PUT IN YOUR RADIO, IN AUX, AND CHECK FOR SOUND..

looks like its a chip on the output of the video ad board. or since the sound was terrible anyway get a surround sound speakers and connect them to your cable box, no cable box then you will have to have it fixed.
