Question about Springfield 91655 Wireless Digital Outdoor Thermometer with Hydrometer and

1 Answer

I have a Springfield Precise Temp Wireless Digital Outdoor Thermometer Model 91455 SF. The Outdoor Temp reads "LL.L" regardless of replacing batteries, resetting the remote, or switching remote channel. I have pressed and held the "Channel" button on the base station to search for the remote, but that doesn't work. The other stations always read "--.-" so I assume it is at least detecting the remote. How do I get the Outdoor Temp to display on the base station?

I have the same problem. Any ideas? My guess is that the outside temp sensor is defective.

What happens if two digital thermometers are set on the same channel

The same as when you have two radio stations on the same channel or frequency. The receiver wants so receive them both, resulting in a scrambled and useless signal in the receiver.
It won't work.
If the system can work with more than one (wireless) thermometer each will have an own channel number. and you will have to switch on the display to read one or the other.

What am I doing wrong? I keep losing my outdoor temperature overnight

I can understand when it is very cold outside, the voltage of the battery drops below the point is can service the transmitter (in the thermometer). But if night temperature is not below zero that can't be the cause.
Be aware, even batteries that come with a new device, can be "old". you never know what the battery had to last, before you put it in the device.
I would advice to buy a new battery for the thermometer. Look in the manual, for what the manufacturer advices. But never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries. Although the alkaline batteries perform bad in cold, it could be the best choice.
