Issue When the printer comes up with an error code on the front panel, we may have to perform the service test(s) related to the error code. Sometimes when we enter into service/diagnostic mode and try to perform a test, the printer may come up with system error 79:04 (non-continuable generic error). When this occurs in diagnostic mode, it is not likely possible to analyze it by pressing front panel keys (e.g., up arrow and cancel); the printer will likely be hung/stuck with the error. Solution To overcome this issue, ensure that no data cable is connected to the printer (Network/USB/Fire Wire). For proper use of the diagnostic menu, the printer should be in a stand-alone state (only connected to power). Once it is confirmed that the printer is in stand-alone mode, then enter back into service/diagnostic mode and perform the test(s) required.
