My kenmore gas stove model 790.75721991 likes to automatically lock whenever it wants even when it's not even on. anyway to remove the autolock mechanism in the oven?

Is the door locked?? Is it an electronic buzzer sound??

hold the CLEAR button for 3 seconds - the door will unlock.
open the door - and press CLEAR for 3 seconds.
Error code may come up.... close and re-open the door.

Are there any indications on the display?

Or is this a mechanical buzzing from underneath? in this case your gas regulator's diaphragm has failed.

If the above reset doesnt wokr (and the sound is electric) your circuit board will need replacement.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Elite Gas Range. #790 series.

Possibly a malfunctioning electric gas valve. The electronics may be sending the message to open that valve, however it could be stuck, clogged or, worse, the electric servo that manipulates it could be fried (no pun intended).
Do you have your exact model #? {Not serial} I can research where to troubleshoot a valve problem or an electronics issue.

It appears your thermostat/probe has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
