Tranfering pictures Hi, i have a canon sd400 and am not able to transfer the new pictures to my computer, can u help me please

  • Anonymous Nov 22, 2008

I have had my SD400 for several years and have transferred pictures fine with one exception. I can't remember how I got it working again then. All of a sudden it won't transfer pictures. I have re-installed the Zoombrowser software, I have downloaded the new software, I have tried downloadeing from the computer and from the camera. I have tried downloading pictures one by one. I have tried every possible order of plugging the USB into the computer and turning on the camera. nada. When I attach the USB to the computer and turn the camera on, I get only as far as the transfer images, OK, then it stops. It says it is transferring but it is not. The blue transfer light stays on. I can't figure it out and am about to go on vacation. Help appreciated.

I tried to tranfer my photos to my computer and

In order to transfer the pictures to the computer you have to turn the switch on to get the computer to detect it, Do you have your manual? if not reply back and I can send you directions. The other thing is you may have not taken any pictures if you did not have it set up right.

HELP!!! HOW DO I TRANFER MY VIDEOS FROM MY CANON 310 CAMCORDER?

A hi-8 has to be played into a video capture device in your computer. Most computers do not come with this type of device. Is it your intention to eventually put your video onto dvd, or just store it in the computer? If it is your intention to transfer your video to dvd, you may find it more cost effective to use a stand alone dvd burner. I have 2 panasonic units that I use, and have been very pleased with their performance. Prior to the stand alone burners, I had a video capture device in my computer. I was able to transfer the video, but continued to have compatability and file type issues, making it very difficult to do much with the video once it was on the computer.

Canon Powershot SD400 won't upload pics to computer

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
