Stuck key on machine wont start

Precor Error 05, Key Depressed at Power Up
Probable Cause 1. A key is permanently depressed on the display.
2. An interface chip (IC) has failed in the upper PCA's keypad.
3. Liquid (cleaning solution or sweat) may be on the surface of a touch sensitive display.

Corrective Action
  1. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the keypad is the cause and should be replaced.
  2. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 still appears, the upper PCA* is the cause and should be replaced. *Upper PCA's most commonly do not come with software. Remove the software (chip) from the existing upper PCA prior to replacement and install into the new upper PCA.
  3. Wipe away all liquid from the touch sensitive display. Reset power to the unit. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the liquid was the cause.

I think i have a vista keypad. I dont have a manual that shows the keypad features. I like for the doors to chime when opened. They stopped chiming for some reason. can this be reset.

On a vista system, enter your 4 digit code and press the 9 button. The keypad should read: Disarmed Chime. The keypad should ding ding ding when a door is opened. To turn the chime off, enter you code and press the 9 button again.

My Inspiron 1525 comes on with the "9" lock(?) illuminated; it goes off while booting, and comes on. What is this "lock", is this "lock" important; what does it mean; and if I need to get it "unlocked",...

Ordinary "desktop" keyboards have a separate "keypad" (slash, star, minus, plus, enter, dot, and 0 through 9) in the same layout as a "traditional" adding-machine.

However, to keep the laptop's keyboard much smaller, those keys are superimposed on the right-hand side of the "standard" keyboard.

So, press "NUMeric LOCK" to use the "keypad" layout, and press it again to use the "standard" letters (I, O, P, K, L, M, et cetera) on the keyboard.

The number 9 button on my N95 is behaving like the red button.

You either have a bad Flex Cable or Minor water damage under the keypad. It needs to be opened and inspected. If you are a little handy, the N95 is not that difficult to open. Search youtube for a opening video of the N95 and inspect the flex cable and its endings then under the keypad itself for signs of corrosion
