I hit the power button the little green light comes on and two seconds later it goes off and the tv never completely powers up. there is a noise in the back of the tv where the power is split into three wires (not sure if this is normal or not).
I bought a used HV splitter and got it all hooked up but i got the same result. when i hit the power button there is a click noise and the power light turns on but in a few seconds there is a second click and the green power light goes offI bought a used HV splitter and got it all hooked up but i got the same result. when i hit the power button there is a click noise and the power light turns on but in a few seconds there is a second click and the green power light goes off

is there a way to test the flyback? i used an electrical tester on both wires coming from the flyback (a white wire and the large red wire) but it showed nothing was going throught either of them? do you think it would still be the flyback?is there a way to test the flyback? i used an electrical tester on both wires coming from the flyback (a white wire and the large red wire) but it showed nothing was going throught either of them? do you think it would still be the flyback?

It could be the used splitter was bad also, or it could be the flyback which feeds the splitter is defective, does it still make the same noise as it did with the different splitter? It could be the used splitter was bad also, or it could be the flyback which feeds the splitter is defective, does it still make the same noise as it did with the different splitter?
Yes. the flyback especially the red wire has a tremendous amount of voltages that run from it if its working. Its a fairly common component that fails. Unfortunately Mitsubishi doesnt make that replacement part anmore its part number 334P278A1
You can get it still at the link I posted above. There is no way to test a flyback without having a flyback ringer and they are quite exspensive to purchase.Yes. the flyback especially the red wire has a tremendous amount of voltages that run from it if its working. IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off: On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.
Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.
Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.
My Loewe Aconda 81 HDR TV will not turn on. When I press the power button the green light comes on but the red light stays on with it and after a few seconds the green light goes out and the red light stays on. Any help please.
if you look at the capacitors on the boards you will find several of them that are domed or blown, these are the most likely cause of the problem. you can find replacements for any capacitor online at electronics supply stores, like radio shack but don't try them they don't supply enough different types. you can also find examples of blown capacitors by doing a search for "blown capacitor image" on any web search. unsoldering these bad caps and replacing them with identical values like 220uf (microfarradys) and say 25 v(volts). these caps have a + side and a - side the caps are marked and so is the board. hope this helps.
