EE problem What do you do when you get en EE on your air conditioner and it shut off?

    My air conditioner won't turn on. EE shows up. What do you do?

    My AC was running fine when I went to sleep, but woke up around 4:00 am and the unit was off and the readout showed "EE"

It could be the control board. I found out that this model air conditoner has had problems with moisture getting in the control panel and shorting it out when it's humid outside. I have the part number if anyone wants it. It cost me about $45 from Sears Parts.

What causes a unit will turn on for about 1sec and then shuts down with the letters EEon display
EE is an ERROR code typically it is a disconnect from the control and the unit, this is inclusive I believe so the thermistor or sensor is bad or off at the board.

Hi.

EE means energy efficiency. hen EE is displayed there can be a defective thermistor or insufficient ventilation.

The following works on some A/C system: "When EE is displayed, press "energy save" and "zone control" simultaneously for about 5 secs"

Try also testing the system in auto mode, check ventilation and if possible test thermistor by reading impedance with a multimeter.

If when EE is displayed the unit also becomes non-responsive and does not turn off, then the problem may also be a defective controller board. Other parts, included the ones mentioned before, must be tested before replacing the control module.

Shows ee and will not come on
EE is an error code. I cant help you with this one , but it means something has failed. Try the Fedders site or a Fedders Agent who may be able to state what the EE code means and then see if you can purchase or obtain a Tech to fit the part required.

We have ducted air which cuts out and shows on the control panel where the clock is says EE.EE
When EE:EE is displayed on remotecontrol , press "Energy Save" &"Zone Control" buttons simultaneouslyfor longer than 3 secs. The error code will then be displayed on the LCD.Then write again. Thanks.

My air conditioner turned itself off and now the display reads EE we have unplugged it it runs for a little while then shuts itself off again
Remove the unit from the window,and dissassemble and use a water hose and clean the inside of the unit,remove all debris,this is most likely the problem.
