Ps2 won't turn on

If your PS2 works fine with most of the games and won’t play a few..Then you should try this trick to play them too on your PS2:

1. Turn on your PS2 without inserting any disc.
2. Menu screen will appear like:
3. Press the (triangle) Button to enter Version Information Menu that looks like
4. Highlight the Play Station Driver as above and again press (triangle).
5. New screen will appear like
6. Highlight the Disc Speed as above and press X button,to enter Disc Speed Menu
7. And set it from Standard to "Fast".
8. After you set Disc Speed to Fast, Press and Hold Reset Button to turn off your console.
9. Then again Press and Hold Reset Button till the Blue Light turns on.
10. Remove the Reset Button and Press it again.

Be patient and wait till the game loads itself. If your lens is in good condition then it will play game in first go else try again till it PLAY your game. If still your Grand Turismo 4 DVD wont work then you must clean your PS2 lens.Watch following video to learn about cleaning lens:

Your console is an old one,and your lens too is probably weak.Try cleaning your PS2 lens Watch Video at end of solution to clean your PS2 at home....
You can also follow these steps to make your PS2 to play GTA San Andreas:

1. Turn on your PS2 without inserting any disc.
2. On menu screen go to [options] by pressing 'triangle' button.
3. A new screen will appear select by pressing 'X' [DISC SPEED]and set it to [FAST]
4. Then insert the game disc.
5. Turn off your PS2.
6. Press and Hold the [Reset Button] till the blue light turns on.Release the Reset button and press it again.

It will take a bit more time to play game,but first i recommend you to clean your PS2 lens,watch this video.


I've got something else to add.......you can follow above steps to play DVD movies if your PS2 dont play any.....!!!

Disc read errors are mainly due to worn out lens or dirty PS2 lens.Clean your PS2 lens to get rid of this problem if your lens is dirty.Watch this video it will help you to know how to clean your PS2 lens.Watch it carefully.


Remember to keep your PS2 in Dust free environment if you don't want your PS2 lens to get dirty.

This is one of the most common problem faced by old thick pS2..........but dOn wOrRy all u hAv to do is to turn on uR pS2 witthout puttin a DVD oR aNy diSc........on mEnu screen gOto [options] by pRessing 'triangle' button......... a new screen will appear select by pressing 'X' [DISC SPEED]....n sEt it to fAst.....then insert the DVD movie........tURn off PS2....press n hold the reset button till the blue light is turned on......release the button and press it again.............. it wOuld take a little tYm foR uR DVD movie to be loAded........be patient till the movie plays it self..............

Just plug the Guitar Hero drums wireless adapter into the usb port.Then press the power button on the drums to switch them on ,then hold down the button on the adapter and press the power button on the drums again .They should connect ,if not it may be the version of your playstation doesnt work with the Guitar Hero World Tour disk.

try this:
1. turn off PS2
2. unplug PS2
3. plug PS2 back in
4. turn on PS2

i checked the manual (troubleshooting) 1. turn off PS2 2. unplug it then, plug it back in and turn it on(andprayitstillworks).

I think maybe that the guitar hero world tour is to new for the old ps2. I think that it only works on new ps2's.

Maybe it has something to do with your power supply, try replacing it with a different one.
