Samsung Propel A767 Cell Phone Logo
Posted on Dec 14, 2010

A week ago, my Samsung Propel screen started changing colors. Red, blue, yellow, green. It was stuck on a blueish tint for a few days and now it is stuck on a white screen. I still hear the sounds of the phone but cannot see anything.

Hi but my phone has just done the same thing today what did you do with yours?

  • blwdbabie189 Mar 29, 2011

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!! my phone was doing the same thing, it would filter different colors on and off and then eventually it just became a completely working phone except with only a white screen. I just disassembled everything and found the tiniest tear in the black strip that connects the screen to the phone. I don't think there is a fix for this, unfortunately, other than buying another phone and switch the screen. You can probably get one on Ebay.com for a few bucks. I can't believe I sold my old broken one just a few months ago! Should've kept it for the parts..

    ANYWAY, I hope that helped.

---> small tear in the connecting strip is my diagnosis.

Mits. rear projection tv ws65905 picture has blue color tint

Your blue picture tube is failing. Invest in a new TV. "If" you can find a new set of tubes(you have to replace all 3 red blue and green) they are around $800-1000. Not cost effective. Run the TV into the ground if you want to wait but do not invest any repair money in my opinion.

Color changed suddenly, no red, just green/yellow/blue

Sounds like the color wheel has gone bad and needs to be replaced. This is located behind the back panel.

Picture settings

Colorimetre HCFR software
AVC HD 709 calibration disk
Spyder2 colorimeter (I know most prefer the Eye-One meters, but the Spyder2 was available from my job at no cost)

Here are the settings:

PS3 Blu-Ray player

Output Format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr (important!!! NOT RGB output)
BD 1080p 24hz Output (HDMI): On (this TV can reproduce video at 48hz for accurate 2:2 pulldown)
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super White (HDMI): On (not sure if this matters)

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.
These settings will also work for Cable or Dish hookups, in which case you may change the Noise Reduction option to Medium to reduce signal noise.

Xbox 360 problem

If you can still HEAR sound, but can't see. Check your Audio Video Cable.

It's the colorful one (red, white, yellow) (red, blue green, white, red)

Make sure the connections are secure into the back of the TV as well as the connection to the back of the Xbox 360.
