Acer aspire 5043wlmi laptop starts but know function of lcd but works on desktop monitor

Sure you can with a standard VGA video cable.

Maybe you will have to change your screen resolution to get the best display layout.

Are you trying to open the battery? is so then please don't it can be very harmful,

Does the system work when still plugged in? If so then the battery is bad, If it does not then there is an issue with the power port usually the solder breaks loose and is a quick repair for a technician,

However opening the laptop itself is virtually impossible to explain on here... Remove the battery sometimes there are small screws.

On the bottom of the laptop screws are usually grouped by letters or symbols.

Keep all like screws together. If there is anything we can do let us know,

If the External LCD Monitor display is working fine, then you computer has to be serviced as the issue is with the laptop LCD screen.If your system is under warranty,please contact Acer.

You could try to open the case and reattach te connectors going into the screen (reattach the other side of the cables as well). If that doesn't help, I'd return it to stoe, because yur screen, graphics card or motherboard is probably broken.
If your warranty has elapsed already, I'll help you replace the broken parts yourself.

May be the LCD screen is not working fine. Try to put external monitor with the laptop and see if you are getting display on it.. It will make you sure that the driver is fine...

If you can connect your VGA output to a regular desktop monitor and it works during the startup process, then it is probably you LCD screen. There is no way to know for sure that it is the backlight unless you replace it.

do you get the self test screen on the monitor. is so it is not communicating with comp. bad video port most likely

Hello, I am using a Viewsonic lcd projector with my new Acer Aspire One. I did not have connectivity off the bat. Here's what I did: 1. Downloaded driver (unsigned, not the signed version worked - ie not os-specific) for the lcd projector to the Acer. Restart Acer. 2. With lcd projector connected to Acer, toggle function key & F5. But then, continue holding down the function key. A screen pops up with icons for laptop, laptop/monitor, dual monitor, and lcd projector. You continue to hold down the function key and then press the F5 key to move to the desired device. I had to repeat the same process to restore my Acer screen to the original proportion when not using lcd projector. I'm not sure if both steps 1 and 2 are necessary, but I did it simultaneously, so I'm not sure of the origin of success.

try to press fn + any function key that has the sun logo or to bright your monitor.
if that doesn't work bring your laptop at the service center because the lcd is having a problem
