I have a HPMedia Center PC. The MFC 5440cn does not appear to be compatible with it. Is this true?

Fill ink by using the fill hole at the top of the ink cartridge.

Brother MFC-5440CN Drivers

If you select your operating system from the drop down menu, hit the search button and it will find the Windows Vista drivers for your Brother MFC-5440CN.

Be sure to select the correct version of your OS, either 32-Bit or 64-Bit otherwise the drivers will not work. If you are unsure of which one you have, follow these simple instructions:

- Click the windows button in the bottom left hand corner.

- Right click on "Computer" in the right hand column.

- Left click on "Properties" at the bottom of the drop down menu that appears.

- A new page will load, under the subheading "System" you will see "System type" this will tell you whether you are running 64-Bit or 32-Bit Windows.

Where does the Error message appear? is it on the printer or the PC.



Try a test print from the printer menu

Press Ink
Press up or down to select 'Test Print'
Press up or down to select 'Alignment
Press menu/set
press black start or colour start

The printer should start printing. If this prints ok then the problem is likely to be with the comms between the printer and workstation

this is the driver for to be rec by the computer ....if you use it into the network ...ya probably need to install the driver into the host pc ...and the rest will just send it trough it ...

When the waste ink box is full you get that error, you will need a shop to replace the box and reset the counter.

connect the machine directly to the wall outlet. if it is within warranty,call TECH support.if not,bring the machine to an authorized service center.the machine maybe malfunctioning

Connect machine to lan. Run the network drivers. PC should find the mfc.
In case you have to do some settings have a look into the network manual which is a pdf document on installcd.

When questions left go to brother homepage of your country and search your mfc and then the faq for networking answers.

Open clamshell, USB port is inside where the inks go to the left

Hint. Delete any previous drivers first then download and install software and drive package before hooking up to USB.
