Cracked LCD screen. Can I replace it myself? Where do you get them?

There fairly easy if you have a little patience..the hardest parts is getting the screen ribbon cable back on the board and not breaking or knocking the plastic locking tab off...i buy them off ebay ..search for broken ones not working, particularly one with a software problem, but has a good screen...you can buy them new for about 100.00 but you can buy a new unit off ebay for less then that, so who would buy a screen for a 100.00 when you can just buy a new one for the same price or less.

if you need step by step to replace it, let me know "before" you even remove the screws off the back..you need to remove the back cover the right way so you dont break off your usb/power port.

search ebay for as is, broken, parts or repair...theres a few on there right now pretty cheap

Where do you get lcd screen for maellan 1470 gps
