My Toshiba DLP Projection TV model number 44NHM84 will turn on but shuts off after 1-2 minutes. What do I need to do to fix this issue?

There are several reasons why your Toshiba DLP projection TV might be turning off after a few minutes. Here are some steps you can take to try and diagnose and fix the issue:
  1. Check the lamp: The most common reason for a DLP TV to shut off after a few minutes is a faulty lamp. Check the lamp to see if it's still functioning properly. If it appears to be damaged or has reached the end of its life (typically around 2000-3000 hours), replace it with a new one.
  2. Check for overheating: Overheating can also cause the TV to shut off. Check the fan to see if it's running properly and clean any dust or debris that may be blocking the airflow.
  3. Check for firmware updates: If the TV's firmware is outdated, it can cause it to shut off. Check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates and install them if necessary.
  4. Check the power supply: A faulty power supply can also cause the TV to shut off. Check the power supply unit to see if it's functioning properly and replace it if necessary.
  5. Check the color wheel: If the color wheel is damaged or not functioning properly, it can cause the TV to shut off. Check the color wheel for any damage or signs of wear and replace it if necessary.
If none of these steps solve the issue, it may be necessary to have a professional technician diagnose and repair the TV.

Clean filter message reset

the filter will need to be cleaned and if the set still shuts down then I would suspect the fan may need to be cleaned and possibly replaced.

Panasonic tv says i need air filter cleaning then shuts off after 1 minute any ideas?

Your TV manual should have the filter cleaning replacement procedure in the manual. Mine does. Otherwise what model do you have so I can get the procedure to you ?

Mitsubishi HC900 Projector shuts down after 5 minutes.

You have 1 of 2 possible problems.

(1) You need a new lamp.

(2) You have an overheating problem.

Just a quick couple of notes about your projector. It is a DLP projector (not LCD) and as such the machine as no air filters to clean. It does have air intake and air exhaust grilles, but no air filters to clean. This next part comes directly from the owner' manual for your projector:

When the lamp operation time exceeds 2000 hours*1 *2, the projector automatically shuts off and can’t be used until the lamp is replaced and the lamp operation time is reset.

Your machine is designed to give visual warning messages at 1500 hours used, and 1900 hours used. Did you see any visual warning about lamp life over the past few months?

If you were experiencing an overheating problem, a "TEMPERATURE!!" message would flash up on the screen just before the unit shuts down. If there is no warning, you don't have a heat problem.

If you have a replacement lamp available, install it and reset the lmap hours according to your user manual. If you don't have the manual, google it on the web (it available).

OSD Message Panasonic PT-50LC14 Air Filter Needs Cleaning

I had the same problem and the stupid tv would shut off after 1 minute. We opened the silver front panel , took the bulb out cleaned it, took the cover off the grey box to the right and very carefully vaccumed the filter and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. It works great now!!! Make sure you unplug your tv before messing with it.
