Thath iPAQ have two security fuses inside,, maybe one blows up when you connect that charger,,, this is not an easy repair work,, you need to have advance experience on electronics,, or take it to an expert service shop,,, good luck!!

Backup battery won't charge

It must be the hp pda battery problem or the problem of your hp pda battery charger.

Ipaq H3835 PDA - won't hold charge??

If you purchase a new battery, they usually come with directions and special tools to change the battery. I had the same issue with 2 of mine when I got them at a used electronics store. IF it is the battery that is not working, then replacing it is easy, and you can get a replacement at your local Battery-Plus store.

In my case, one was fixed by a new battery, the other was not, and I actually had to press pretty hard in the cradle to get the second one to work. It never worked out of the cradle, so I gave that one to a neighbor kid to tear apart and see if he could get it working. (I got them for $15, so no big loss.)

Battery won't charge after being replaced

The charger might be bad. Or then the pdas connector is bad, or the motherboard is damaged.

to find out is your charger working you could use a tester to test it or another pda.

If you could get some power into the pda you could use the bootloader to test the device. Its been years since I had my 3850.

Il have to find instructions on how to get to the bootloader but test the other things first.

Battery

This IPAQ will not support 3rd party battery manufacturers. Ensure you are using an original HP battery. You usually can use the battery one time--but when the charge runs out, so does your luck.

Most of the time you will get an on-screen warning that the battery will not be able to charge when you use a 3rd party battery. If you are using an original, you might need a new battery--they do wear out after time--too-old batteries no longer hold a charge.

My H5450 won't charge!

When you charge up your iPaq, do you use the cradle, or do you use the AC-adapter with the little iPaq power converter that came with the iPaq? Try both, and see if it charges up your pda. Try and borrow an iPaq car-charger and see if it charges up that way (the ones that do not need the iPaq power converter). If you are lucky enough to power up the iPaq even for 2 minutes, enable USB fast charging in the SETTING -> BATTERY. Your USB-data-cable or cradle will then be able to charge it up that way...
