Maytag PER5710 Performa Electric Kitchen Range Logo
Posted on Dec 12, 2010

We have a maytag performa electric stove, probabley about 6 years old, and last time we did the self clean on the oven we had a lot of stains that ran down between the inside and outside door panel. This, of course, shows through the door window and looks just awful. First of all what caused it to do that when it has not done it before? Also, what can we do about it since taking the door apart is not an option?

I have 48 " 6 burner stove natural gas.Stove is

the glass in the ovens should not crack when self clean is used. it could be that there was a minut crack in the glass or a build up of moisture in between to door windows that expanded at the extra heat but this should be brought up with the manufacturer for replacement.

I hope this was useful.

My Maytag Performa oven and stove top will not turn on (heat up)

When I turn on my Maytag performa using the "bake" function, everything looks ok on the display, however the temp. never rises above 100. I've tried "bake" and "convect", and neither one work. "Clean" doesn't work either. The oven will lock, and display shows that it's heating up, but temp. never rises.
However....."broil" feature works just fine.
Please help.

Oven vents on front are stained and ugly. How do I clean them?

sorry but you wont be able to remove the "stain" what has happend is the paint used by maytag has become discolored from the oven vent heat and the only way to correct it is to replace the panel. they are available but for about 80 bucks. you could try to paint the panel but it will do it again.

Stove cleaning

The filter in the jenn air can be run through the dishwasher. clean the outside of the oven as best as you can before you start the self clean cycle. NEVER!!! use oven cleaner inside a self cleaning oven. or on the gasket. . You can use a degreaser or oven cleaner on the cooktop on any stainless steel, procelain or chrome surface. Don't get oven cleaner on painted or aluminum surfaces. Rinse off very well.
