mismatching resolution is the problem. If you have a DVI input on your tv I would buy the conversion cable to go from RGB (off the back of the cable box) to the DVI. You should have an RGB on the TV as well and can go RGB TO RGB. Many possibilities including using a scan converter.

No place to put your RGB on the PC or on the TV? Your TV should have an RGB port for sure. The "green" may be yellow instead.
Your PC will need a video card installed that features a RGB output to make it work from there.
Some PCs use DVI out instead. You would then need a DVI/HDMI converter to plug into your TV's HDMI port and then to the PC.

In order to connect your laptop to your TV using RGB, you need an RGB adapter. RGB is also known as component video; it breaks up a video signal into red, green and blue. laptops do not have RGB outputs. However, many laptops have VGA, DVI or HDMI outputs. An RGB adapter connects the single VGA, DVI, or HDMI cable to an RGB cable, which is actually three different cables tied together. INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Connect either the VGA, DVI or HDMI (in the order of increasing video quality) cable to the VGA, DVI or HDMI port on your laptop, depending on what is available. 2. Connect the other end of the cable to the side of the RGB adapter with the single input. 3. Connect the RGB cables to the red, green and blue ports on the other side of the RGB adapter. 4. Connect the other end of the RGB cables to an available component input on the back of the TV. 5. Tune the TV to the component video input you used through your television's menu. 6. Turn on your laptop. The laptop should now display on your TV screen.

Your monitor has Analog RGB, DVI and HDMI inputs. Any other hook ups will require additional cables and/or adaptors. It also has 2 additional audio inputs. I can't answer your question without knowing what kind of outputs you do have on you computer system. Most desktops have DVI out and would probably be your best bet using a DVI to HDMI adaptor with a HDMI cable out to your HDMI in on your monitor.Rgb cable would use svga out on your computer. The best way to get an answer would be to let me know the make and model of your computer system with avaiable outputs, if you know what the outputs are or, repost with additional info included.

There are several ways to do this. The two best are:

1. Get a DVI to HDMI cable. This will allow you to plug directly from your computers DVI to your TV's HDMI.

2. If your computer has an analog (rgb (vga) 15 pin) input, you can simply get a dvi to vga adapter and plug into that port.

Currently, I am using option 2 for my own use.

In the photo below, I point out the HDMI, RGB (VGA), and audio inputs. You must use the audio input but you have a choice of using the HDMI or RGB for video input from your PC. If you have the extra HDMI slots, I would use that. If not, the RGB is fine.

the dvi out of pc via adaptor to hdmi on tv has no audio,ok.
so LG diagram shows separate audio into Audio in RGB/DVI.
Resulting in video in on HDMI ok,but audio on RGB.Can not get both together.
Fix is revert to DVI to RGB lead with audio on RGB/DVI input.
The audio jack would only work with mono plug for audio in, to RGB.

Well you need HD calbes there Blue Green and Red not Red yellow and white so put these in the yellow red and white and use them as RGB because it is a invalid format!!

Yes VGA carries RGBHV--RGB and Horizontal and Vertical Sync information along with DDC info where available.

Now is that port on your TV a d-sub 15 pin standard VGA connector?

If it is, then yeah you should be able to output VGA from a PC to the TV with a proper cable.

However if the TV has DVI or HDMI connections on it, it's better for you to connect it that way. DVI/HDMI is a digital signal and if it's a digital-based display tech TV, then you're better off using that. Also if the TV does resolution above 1360x768 (i.e. if it does 1080p) you can get higher resolution by going via DVI/HDMI...

According to the manufacturer, you have two plugs available for video. Either will work fine. The first is the traditional RGB plug. It contains 3 rows of 5 pins, and typically is blue in color. The second (and better IMHO) connection method is the DVI cables that many LCD's now come with. However, you will need to have a DVI connection on whatever you're plugging this monitor into. The plug is much wider than a traditional RGB plug. Presumably, you're going directly from DVI port on computer to DVI port on Z2?. Here is a Q&A list based on all the possible sceanrios for this hook-up...

Q1: Is it DVI-D or DVI-I (with unencrypted DIGITAL output from graphics card)?
A1: Choose 'Input 2', then 'RGB(PC Digital)' on Z2.

Q2: Is it DVI-D or DVI-I (with HDCP-encrypted DIGITAL output from graphics card)?
A2: Choose 'Input 2', then 'RGB(AV HDCP)' on Z2.

Q3: Is it DVI-I or DVI-A (with ANALOGUE output from graphics card)?
A3: Choose 'Input 2', then select 'RGB(Analog)' on Z2.

After making sure the correct 'Input 2' is chosen to match the signal coming from the card's DVI port, make sure your card is outputting a suitable screen resolution that the PLV-Z2 can display correctly, e.g... 1280x720 (native, and preferable!); 640x480; 800x600; 1024x768 (choose this if you don't have 1280x720); 1280x1024, etc. Also, if you have multiple refresh rates availble for the resolutions, choose 60Hz.

You should end up with an image.
