It suddenly happened. I have my Creative Zen just one year and a half and last time that I tried to turn it on it just did not. I did not smashed it or soaked or anything. I reset it. Cleaned it up, Formated all, and the same message is coming........ Firmware Problem!!!! I have tried it all. I downloaded the Creative Zen Firmware 1.03.04 as the Creative site suggests, but my laptop just dont detect the device at all. Any suggestions????? i have a creative zen player but it causes me some problems, i haven't its driver so it is impossible for me to get access to it when i connect him to my computer.I've cleaned it up, format all,...but i have the same message "firmware problem".Why can i do ?
About this issue of creative zen wherein the device is not booting up to the normal os. and is not being detected by your computer, and giving you options to clean, reset, and format.
my brother and i own creative zen, my brother own zen 4GB and i own 16gb. i don't have any problems at all. but my brother does.
what i did is i just download the firmware version of my brother's zen that is missing which is version 1.03.04_0.6.1.
unfortunately you will not find this firmware version at creative website.
i checked a website and i found this.

just perform this steps and you're good to go.
1. download the firmware for your zen.
2. connect your zen to your pc.
3. run the executable file (firmware).
4. just follow the on-screen instructions on your computer and you're good to go.

Most likely, the motherboard problem.

try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?

There's an updated firmware download: Firmware 1.32.01. Try downloading that.

I have a very similar problem, except in my case the computer recognizes it as "MTP device" and the firmware upgrade program keeps telling me to plug it in! I have plugged it in!
I tried that but it says no device is connected when i launch the firmware update , but my computer shows it being there...
