About 4 years ago someone purchased for me (on line - as a present) Adobe Photoshop.7.0.1. In August this year we experienced serious problems with the computer and had to clear the hard drive right back to the virgin manufacture's default setting (HP media center). obviously where CD software was concerned we had to re-install the appropriate programs. Having re-instated the computer back to the required 'state' the Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1. shortcut automatically returned to the desktop and the actual program registered as being one of the installed programs on the harddrive however when trying to open it the program will not open. Since the purchase of the Photoshop program I cannot retrieve an paper work for obvious reasons. My original online purchase details was to '[email protected]' which, as you will see, is the same contact address as this message (and the the ID for my Adobe membership). As the program was purchased legitimately how can I have the program reinstated onto my computer hard drive ? Thank you in advance Howard Vaughan

If you registered the software with Adobe, it can be found using their web site.

·Open "My Computer." In Windows XP, the icon is on the desktop. In Windows Vista or Windows 7, you must access this via the "Computer" option in the Start menu.
·Double-click the "C" drive, followed by the "Windows" folder inside. Locate the temporary Photoshop folder, which will look similar to this: "Photoshop Temp6382948398." Double-click the folder when you find it.
·Locate the file inside the temporary folder that matches the name of the corrupted file. Double-click it to open it in Photoshop.
· Click "Save As" in the "File" portion of the main menu bar. Save it in a different location and under a different name
I seriously doubt that CS2 software bonus features will be available from Adobe. That software has been outdated and out of production for over a year.
The point of an upgrade edition of a piece of software is so that you can upgrade your existing software. You need Photoshop 7 or higher to use the upgrade. If you don't have it, you will need to return/refund your purchase of the cs3 upgrade, and get the full version of the software instead.
Your other option is to purchase an earlier version of adobe photoshop, in order to install it so that you can upgrade it. Seems very round-about but I suppose it would work, and I'll bet if you find adobe photoshop 7 somewhere, it'll be awfully cheap ;)
Unfortunately the "official" word is out. Photoshop 7.0, 7.0.1 is not compatible with Apple's newest Operating System, Leopard (10.5).
Adobe Photoshop versions CS (8.0) CS2 (9.0) and CS3 (10.0) do run in Leopard but may have some issues. The only suggestion I have for you is either revert back to Tiger (10,4) or upgrade your Photoshop to CS3.
Adobe offers a discounted upgrade price from 7.0, CS1, CS2 to CS3 for $199. That's a lot
better then paying the full retail price of $649.00. I wish I had a better suggested solution for you. You're not alone on this one.
