The voltage of the mains in your house is very low and when another appliance is turned on and the current it draws during the startup procedure is very high it drops below what your player can use - so it simply shuts down. When the appliance goes in normal mode the current drawn drops = the voltage goes up and you player restarts. Verify the voltage settings of the player and, if necessary use an UPS.
The 112 unit uses a cam operated transport- it may need a new 6.5" belt and some head base lubrication as well as the feedback pot spray cleaned. I do them all the time.
If you select the HDMI channel to watch a dvd does it do it then, if not disconnect both ends of the scart lead and reconnect or replace. If the scart lead is not in properly this could happen, when you switch on the player and play a disc your tv will automatically switch to the AV/Scart channel, but you are better off manually turning the TV over to the HDMI Hi-Def channel for DVD.
