I have an SPL Z1X 3000D Mono (3000W) amp that I just got so I could maximize my Sub's output. But My Kenwood 800W amp has better sound quality and is much louder. I don't know why

Because a kenwood amp is true power and has better pertection built in it.the spl is a cheaper brand of equipment.just because it says 3000 whats doesnt mean it is,the spl is about 150 - 200 brand new, that should tell you why

What amp would be better to use with what speakers/sub? I have a KAC-7202 kenwood 920W maximum power (150wX2 RMS, 4ohms) (230wX2 RMS 2ohms) and then the other amp I have is a Alpine MRP-M500 mono power...

I'm using that Alpine right now for 2-12" subs and I have compared it to 6 or 7 other amps this month and most were 4 channel 150Watt/Channel Bridged to 300Watts x 2 and found the Alpine to be superior in both sound quality and loudness. The Alpine has also not turned off even with full volume for hours at a time, Very solid amp I was very surprised due to it's size!

How do i wire 2 4ohm single coil subs to a 2 channel 6ohm load?

If you can setup the Amp as a Mono Amp this will work for you very well unless the Amp needs a 12ω Load when setup for Mono Operations. You will want to hook the Two Subs in Series so that the Amp will see 1 8ω load. This means you will hook a wire to the Positive pole of one Sub and hook the Negative Pole to the Positive Pole of the Second Sub and hook the Negative Pole to the Amp's Negative pole. This will reduce the overall output but will end up having better reliability of the Sub since each sub will only see ½ the overall output of the Amp and you will still get the full output of the Amp.

Have 1 subwoffer need to hook it up to a 2 channel input

I must assume that you have a "Sub" output from the receiver that you are using. If this is a dedicated Subwoofer that doesn't have it's own power, you are set, all you need to do is use an RCA cable from the Receiver to the Sub. If this is a dedicated Sub without power you will need an appropriate power amplifier to amplify the signal to the Sub. If this is only one Sub you may search for a Mono Amplifier to save money in your search. The connection from the Receiver to the Amp is the same and from the Amp to the Sub is with a wire that is usually 18 Gauge "Zip cord" unless the Sub has it's own cabling. Place the sub in a corner to maximize the power output and move it away from the corner to smooth the output until you like the way the sound works with the main speakers. If it is too loud or too soft most A/V Receivers provide a way to adjust the volume of the Sub. Enjoy the sound when you get it setup the way you like it but don't blow out the neighbors.

How do i bridge 2-4ohm dvc's to a mono block

If you have a DVC 4ohm speaker, and you are using both voice coils, the amp is seeing a 2ohm load.
If you bridge the amp, you CAN run both subs as long as the amp is Two Ohms Stable.
Wire each subs voice coils in parallel.(Positive to positve, neg to neg.) (2ohms) each.
Then wire the two subs in series.(Neg from amp to neg of sub one, pos of sub one to neg of sub two. then pos of sub two to pos of amp.

If it sounds too hard, leave it as you are already running the amp at two ohms.

Pioneer 800w mono issue

It can be many things it possible the amp cannot handle the 4 ohm load and simply goes into power protection mode. Also make sure your using the correct gage wire to run power from your battery to the amp to thin and it wont have enough power to perform.

High x-max vs. high sensitivity

Sensitivity is a representation of efficiency. The higher the efficiency, the better the sound quality.
Xmax is a measure of the "throw of the cone peak to peak. This is a direct representation of the volume of air the subwoofer will displace..
A High X.Max subwoofer will displace more air - and therefore produce more SPL in a vented enclosure.
Sensitivity on these subs aren't crucial, because the customer is looking for LOUD and will purchase a large class D Mono amplifier to power it - characteristically low in sensitivity as well due to the way the power is inverted. Highly efficient, yet low sensitiviy.
I am definately a basshead! My show car has (4) 15" Cerwin Vega Stroker PROs. (one of the most highly EFFICIENT high xmax subs available) (86dB). (36-44mm Xmax (adjustable for SQ or SPL)
ea141e4.jpg If you are looking for SPL, High XMax, Low sensitivity, and lots of power is the way to go. Generally, to increas SPL by 3dB, yuo must either increase surface area of driver 2x or double the input power. Slot ports, aeroports, and loaded horn ports can also increase your dB level by up to 3dB as well.
Properly constructed enclosures have an effect as well. Instead of wasting some of your power on vibrating the enclosure, it should be braced properly to reduce the wasted energy.
All of these tips will add tou your satisfaction of the product. You can make a $100 sub sound phenomenal in a proper enclosure, and a $400 sub sound like $hit in a prefab or poorly constructed one.

Your original question - with all things equal except the subwoofer, the subwoofer with the higher Xmax should yield the most SPL - due only to the fact of air displacement.

If you have additional questions or need clarification dont hesitate to ask.

Unsureness of wiring configurations.

Mamola,

Get an amp with at least 200 Watts RMS. The RMS value is what is important about driving Subs. This could be proclaimed to be a 1000 Watt amp. REad the RMS value.

Wiring. It is better to series your Speakers to give them and your amp more reliability,

Get a Mono or Bridgeable amp. If it si bridgeable, BRidge the output as described in the manual you get. Some Amps have a diagram right on the output..

AMP+ to Sub1 +
Sub1 - to Sub2 +
Sub2 - to Amp -

Get a 4 Guage wring kit. Run your power wiring down the Drivers side, and Audio signal wiring down the Passenger side, keep the two separate.
