This is a toshiba error when running recovery discs on your machine. There are two reasons that this could occur, one would be corrupted Recovery Discs and the other is bad hardware (Hard Disk Drive).

While running a full system recovery from the Recovery Media, the installation may fail -- and display one of the error messages listed below. Possible causes of these error conditions are listed at right. Use this list as a troubleshooting guide -- not as an absolute list of causes, as there may be others.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC10-1710" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-0241" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive or defective memory.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-045D" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-0970" -- may be caused by defective memory.

In my case with this error:10-FC06-002, I found it to be the media . I used another Computer with image burn and reburnt the disks making sure there were no read or write errors in Imageburn.
This worked for me. I thought this because S.M.A.T never detected the HDD as bad.

Toshiba A60 equiam will not boot from original recovery disk

Try reseating the RAM modules and then try the recovery CD.
If it still fails, take the RAM modules out and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM.

Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop A200 - EZ2204X with a model number of PSAF4U now my problem exactly that i have got the recovery discs on a DVDs and after that I have lost them .... and now the windows...

Hello,

For recovery disks set, they are available only for purchase. You can buy the recovery disks for your laptop on http://recovery-disks.com/toshiba/toshiba-satellite-pro-a200-ez2204x.html.

What I can suggest if you don't want to pay for these disks is to format and install Windows and then you can install free software like Driver detective to know what drivers you will need. Once you have the list of drivers, you can download them from websites like driverguide.com.

Note that formatting your laptop will result in losing everything you have on it.

Hope this helps.

I HAVE TOSHIBA LAPTOP SATELLITE A665 AND I TRY RECOVERY BUT STOP ON 3RD RECOVERY DISC WITH THIS ERROR 10-FA12-045D HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?

This error code with Toshiba usually indicates a bad hard drive, bad memory, or bad recovery discs. Download this drive fitness test HERE. It is an ISO image that you can dowload on another computer, burn the image to disc, and run it on your laptop to test your hard drive (bootable disk). You can download memtest 86 HERE in ISO form to test your system memory (bootable disk). I think you will find your answer with one of these tools.

I have a Toshiba Satillte L505-S5971 Got something

Your original hard disk may have a recovery partition on it. You may be able to restore the Toshiba to Out of the Box condition, but it will wipe out your data so bach up your data first. For instruction to restore your Toshiba, click on this link and follow my instructions :-

*for this error 10-FC12-045D u nid to call 1-800-457-7777 toshiba advance technical support they will send it to depot or they will recommend ASP (Authorized Service Partner)

I suppose your recovery disks could be bad. You can get another set from Toshiba. I'm also concerned about the health of the hard drive. Did you need to run recovery because the system crashed, because it may not have been an operating sysem crash but rather a hard drive crash. Have the harddrive or whole laptop checked by a reoutable repair person or check my website: www.micromendllc.com

I am coming up with error 10-fc12-0570 on the toshiba satellite a215-s7422 i used the both recovery disk and this was the error code

The error message is telling you that the recovery utility was not able to read the data from the disc correctly, or wasn't able to write it to the hard drive. The problem could be with the disc, the CD/DVD drive or the hard drive.

but usually error 10-FC12-0570 is pertaining to a bad HDD or memory

First, try copying the second disc using another system. If you can't copy it, order replacements from Toshiba Customer Assistance: 1-800-457-7777. If you can copy it, try using the copy to do the restore.
You can try using a third party disk checker to verify the problem is or is not with the hard drive. But since the system is under warranty, you're going to have to arrange to have it repaired anyhow, so it may not be worth the effort to verify whether it's the hard drive or CD/DVD drive. It's probably not the CD/DVD drive since you got all the way through the first disc. Contact a Premier (not regular) ASP for service from here: http://pcrepair.toshiba.com

The best way would be to load the Win Vista discs n format the pc...and reinstall...iam telling this because u have a tried the recovery disk as well....

I know most users will not have the Vista CD with you but the Vista Recovery Boot Cd is available free by Microsoft just google...

Download it burn the Image .iso and run that disc. Since that disc will not restore the OS all it does it lets u run diagnostics on ur HDD and allows u to install the OS. Once disk check is completed and repaired, proceed with the Recovery disks that you have.

thank you
have a nice day
