I have just baught a second hand belling double oven cooker, we have switched it on and the timer is constantly buzzing! And the top oven and grill don't work! Any ideas on wot could b wrong?

The timer has been set and the cooking time is finished. That is why it is buzzing and the oven is in a turned off state. You need to acknowledge the cooking time finished, and set the oven back to Manual operation from Automatic. In the old days you pressed one of the buttons by the clock that was used to set. I used to have a Belling Double Oven in the UK, but I can't remember about the timer.

Timer Switch Failures

Many toaster ovens use a timer switch to operate the ovens. Many of them use very poorly made Chinese timer switches that make a very poor electrical contact internally causing them to get very hot and in cases will melt connector insulation and also cause wall plugs to get very hot. One in particular is part # DKJ/1-60 which is used in Black and Decker and other manufacturers ovens. Replacement switches are about impossible to find and B&D will be of no help finding one. If your timer switch has only 2 contact tab's on it, you can use this tip to repair your oven. If it has more that 2 contacts, you will need to find a replacement switch or ask a qualified technician about other switches that can be used.
A safe and easy way to fix the appliance is to replace the bad timer switch with a single pole single throw toggle switch. Make sure to get one rated for 20 amp's at 120 volts AC. You will no longer have a timer and you will need to turn the oven on and off manually, but at least you will be able to use the oven and not have to worry about a faulty timer switch overheating! The timers are for convienience only and you have to turn the OVEN feature on and off manually anyway so all you're losing is the timer convienience for toast or whatever and the toggle switches are much safer too. The switches can be purchased at any electrical parts store or at many hardware stores for under $10. A cheap and safe solution to the problem!
If you feel the need for a timer and want to take your chances with a timer switch, there are a couple switches that you can use to replace the DKJ/1-60 switches. They are made for Delonghi toaster ovens and are readily available. One part # is 5218104600. This switch will work the same as the original but it only has about a 15 minute toast timer. Turn counterCW for OVEN ON like the original switch. You may need to use some mounting parts from the old switch depending on your particular oven. Another switch which has a 120 minute timer is part # 5218101800 but may be a little harder to find. Both of these look the same as the DKJ/1-60 and are about the same size with the bell on the back of the switch.

Oven timer not working

Make sure you're using right programme. There is a countdown timer that does not affect the oven operation. This is the one with a bell on it. If you want to stop start then use other programmes.

Timer dosn't work therefor oven dosn't go on

The timer must be working and must be in manual mode for the oven to operate. If the timer is blank it is probably faulty and you will need a new timer. If you don't need the timer/clock the timer can be by-passed inside the oven by someone who knows what their doing and the oven will work no problems.

GE Wall Oven Model # JKP07G0D2BG - The clock has quit working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I assume the display for the clock/timer is now blank. If the oven is still working the only thing you are missing is the clock. If you can't do without it you will need a new clock.
Most of the time the clock/timer stops working it affects the operation of the oven, the oven won't work. If this is the case you will need a new timer unless you can do without the clock/timer. If so a repairman should be able to bypass the clock with ease so that the oven will operate without the clock/timer.

A lock sign is showing on the screen and the oven won't go on and I can't get the lock sign off!

This is possibly a self clean oven. Usually when the self clean is operated the timer is used. Try checking the timer is back on "manual"

Dead Delonghi toaster oven

Your timer switch burned out. The timer is manual and will tick even unplugged. Delonghi switches are available at The Gourmet Depot website or search "small appliance parts" for other places that sell the switches.

De Dietrich Oven - Clock tripping back to 00:00 means I cant turn on my oven!

its a fix more than a solution but you can bypass the clock thus allowing the oven to operate again
unplug at the mains and remove the oven from the housing remove the two fastening screws from the metal lid on the top of the oven ,and remove the lid
you will see the timer back panel with 3 wires coming to it, 2 are black (switching line) and 1 is red (Live feed to timer )
If you pull the connectors from the 2 black wires from the timer board and connect the ends together using a connector block, the timer switch becomes inactive and allows the oven functions to operate again.
you will have no timer functions but its a cheap fix and who uses the timer any way
good luck Andy B
ps if anyone has a set of operating manuals for ths oven i would be glad of a copy
